2 oz American Barrel Wax The barrel may leak from the head, poke in seams or even leak from wood. This can happen in any barrel and is a normal part of the barrel aging process. To prevent leakage, apply a small amount of barrel wax to the leak area. How to use: Find the cause of leakage. Usually around the barrel head or stave seam, but liquid may pass through the wood itself. Apply a small amount of wax to the barrel where a hole or leakage occurs with your finger. Push the wax into the hole until it stops leaking. If you are not sure exactly where the leaks are, simply melt the wax in a leaky area. Squeeze the wax into the crease to clean the excess wax. In some cases, a small amount of liquid may start to seep. Put the contents into the glass container, fill with boiling or boiling water, then store the tablet solution and let it sit for 10 minutes.
