I liked this game the best in the XIII trilogy
I liked this game the best in the XIII trilogy, which hasn't received critical acclaim as the previous ones.Story: although there are constant references to part 1, which seemed self-contained and had a proper ending rather than a cliff-hanger, the story becomes much less linear which one of the biggest criticisms of the previous one. The story is fine but it can become confusing at times due to travel between different times and places, a mechanic probably somewhat overused after crono trigger, which to my knowledge, was the first rpg to utilise it. The ending sparked much controversy and hate, but personally I really like it.Graphics: Some of the best I've seen on ps3 but some claim that it is a step back from part 1.Music: Probably the best feature in the game. You will not be disappointed here.Gameplay: Excellent! Although you can control only too characters in this game, rather than three or four characters at a time, this is partly compensated by recruiting monsters to fight with you! There is a huge number of monsters to choose from and each with different strengths and weaknesses but you will probably spend too much time unlocking their full potential. All in all, due to its cheap price currently and the many positive points I mentioned, this game is a must purchase for ps3. It is also available for 360 and pc, which has better graphics if your rig is strong enough.

Amazing
Easily one of the most enjoyable games I've played to date. Where FF13 was very restricted in terms of what you could do when, this game has flipped it around and given you a great deal of control over what to do when. The level up system is still somewhat restricted (really miss the customisation FFX offered), but by utilising the two key characters (Serah and Noel) and then adding a customisable third member in the form of a captured monster, you can build multiple teams that can adapt to pretty much any fight. Some of the monsters near the end of the game really will challenge you as you need to be able to quickly react to the change in battle tactics, but this all adds a certain element of appeal to the game.Overall, would definitely recommend this game to anyone, FF fan or not :)
