Q: How heavy is this pan

Really quite light for such a good pan.

Q: Do the bases of the pans go black in the dishwasher - is there any aluminium on the base?

Personally I don't have Dishwasher, so couldn't answer with 100% confidence. As a seller not a single complain we received about bases go black in Dishwasher. So my believe is that it's safe and strong Pans. Rest you are covered with warranty of Nonstick coating.
