The description says "flip open", does this couch, in fact, "flip open" to a sofa bed?

No it does not flip open you would think it does by the description it is very misleading. It is a nice quality sofa and my granddaughter loves it. I hope this was helpful.

What is the age group?

My 4 year old granddaughter loves it. I can see her using it through age 6 or 7. She has a 7 year old friend who sits on the sofa with her.
