Q: No instructions on how to adjust the depth? How to do that? I see different levels.

You don’t need to adjust depth with this. It is a calibrated tamper that uses a spring; you push until the resistance gives way and then you are done. It should be sufficiently deep for any double basket.

Q: Why does it have a screw on portion? Am I supposed to adjust/calibrate something?

The screw on is just the way it’s put together. No adjustment is possible nor required.

Q: Is the pressure or depth adjustable?

No there is no adjustment. It has a pretty good range of depth though that will depend on how much you fill the portafilter basket with your coffee as to how far down it goes. I love mine.

Q: Why is the top removable?

Honestly I didn’t know the top screwed on or off until I received this question but I do see someone has already answered this same question back in March 2023 Question: Why does it have a screw on portion?
