Q: Will this work with a digital gauge (Yamaha)?

Dear customer, No matter the digital fuel gauge or needle ones . If the signal of your fuel guage is 240-33ohms. It can work with our fuel level sending unit with resistive output 240-33ohms( (240 ohms at empty , 33 ohms at full).

Q: is it compatible with transmission oil?

Don’t know. It’s just a gas tank float. Worked perfectly for me and assume it would work with transmission oil but not sure of chemical resistance or viscosity issues. Company should be able to confirm.

Q: i need a side mount (horizontal) solution for a tractor fuel tank. i don't think this is something i can add in from the top.?

Gravity wins again - the units must be mounted vertically.

Q: Can I extend the wire leads on this to say 10 or 12 feet? Or will that mess up the Ohms reading?

10 ft of 20 ga wire only has a resistance of .101 ohms. So No It will not.
