Firstly, it feels a bit cheap. What do you expect for $20? But, we have not had any real problems with it. The tracks seem to slowly work loose, but it is slow, and easy to push back together. One minor annoyance is the contacts on the cars are woven wire like a ground strap. This works well, except that their flexibility lets them get misaligned easily when the cars fly off onto the carpet. They are easy to push back into alignment, but it gets tedious with little kids who like to crash off the track.Some reviewers complained about the cars being uncontrollably fast. That is basic slot car (or any kind) of racing. Race cars are always fast enough to wreck if the driver is not skilled enough. After only a few sessions, my just turned 4yo can keep the car on the track at a quick pace, or send it flying off at will. The 2yo can drive slowly around the track, but prefers to send the car zooming off the track.

My son absolutely loves this track. I just wish there was more track to be bought for it so we could add pieces and make it longer and something different rather than a figure at the whole time. I also wish I came with other cars or a way to buy extra cars because the metal fibers underneath our fraying out very easily and I don’t think they will last very long.

My grandson and I enjoy racing with Lightning McQueen! I was pleased with the car and track quality. The cars are fast and stay on the track well. The key is to carefully push the track sections together completely and carefully disassemble if you don't leave it set up. If you do leave it up be sure to dust the track and cars before each use as the cars will have traction and power problems with dust buildup. This is a good starter track kit.

My grandson was so happy with this toy. He got excited while opening it! His dad put the track together and they had fun playing with it. My grandson loves feeling like he’s helping Lightning McQueen win a race.

This race track is suitable for ages 3+. It is easy to operate, easy to put together, and tons of fun.

Cars are not as big as in the picture...they are like 2.5 in or so. Ours didn’t work at first, my husband had to troubleshoot it. The cars go really fast and they get out of the track, not very good for toddlers.

The kids all enjoyed this set. Out of the box, one car worked, one didn’t. I piddled with the metal contact points and fixed it (took about 10 seconds..) the kids love the cars flying around the track. No issues with the cars flying off, they can run them full throttle with no issue. It was easy to assemble, I got it knocked out in about 5 minutes with an anxious 4 year old “helping” me. Probably could have got it done in 3 without the help.. anyway, great bang for the buck. Entertains the kids for hours. You’ll need extra metal contact strips eventually, they do wear out. I found them on amazon rather easily though. Great product!

Do not waste your money!! My oldest children pooled their own money to buy this set for their little brother's birthday. He only had it for a few hours and one of the cars started running off the tracks. The brushes on bottom wore out. So he kept playing with it and I figured we could get new brushes. However, no replacement parts for this model. The metal pieces on the track come out (very sharp and dangerous for children), controller abruptly stopped working. I tried contacting Carrerra for replacement as my 30 day return window had expired (ordered it a month early to ensure arrival and didn't try it out) to no avail. They are a German company and the only communication is in German on the website. I sent an email anyway and have received no response. With no replacement parts and defective item product is useless!! JUNK
