Better than Rockford Fosgate.

I originally had the Polk Audio 651 speakers that finally got ruined after 8 years of pounding. I decided to go with these since they do not make the 651s any longer. At first I was not liking the sound of these because the tweeters were putting out too much of the same frequency as my hog tunes tweeters. There is a crossover built onto this speaker which I think may control the highs going to the woofer. I found the only way to get a balanced sound was to cut the wire going to the tweeter and leave the crossover where it is. I'm pushing these with a 160 watt biketronics amplifier coming from the rear channel of my deck. The front channel that goes to the hog tunes tweeters uses only the deck's power. I can add in as much of the tweeter as I need to with the fade switch. I did not like the biketronics h a t speakers I found that they put too much of a low end base and not the kind of base that you can hear. It may be my imagination but I also think that the deep adapter for the speaker actually colors the sound. Overall I am very pleased with this setup

I just replaced a pair of JBL's that I blew out because I didn't think about it when I bought them that they were car speakers only and I really needed motorcycle/ATV speakers.I have speaker adapters because the factory speakers were smaller. I think 5 1/4" were the factory size speakers.I have a Kicker PX?-300.4 amp for these only and wow. I thought the JBL'S were really good but when I installed these, what a difference. A ton clearer and with the factory radio it really woke it up big time. As with all stereo systems,,, the radio part of it never, ever will sound good. Now connect Bluetooth or even a CD and all heck breaks loose. Look guys,,, I looked at the $400 Rockford's,, and yes they sound good but I'm telling you that for this price,, with my amp it stands right up to them. Even if these blow in 4 years,, that's ok,, for the price I'll just replace them.Heck the JBL'S lasted 4 1/2 years and there car speakers.

Speakers are great! Install in 2023 Polaris Rzr Pro Xp front speaker boxes was not easy. Had to take my grinder to the outside of the speaker on both driver and passenger side to make fit. Drivers side was much worse than passenger. But, with a lot of silicone, they sound great with a 120 watt per channel amp.

I have no idea why people call these garbage. Well i guess i do that person does not understand audio. THE Stock Harley Speakers are 2 OHM these are 4 OHM they need twice the power to sound the same volume. However they also have more clarity than 2 ohm. Get a Amp and enjoy. Is the bass great ? NO its a 6.5 inch full range speaker its not designed to carry bass like a sub woofer. With an amp will it blow away fosgate harley speakers ? YES

I bought 4 of these for my Harley 2 in the upper fairing and 2 in the lower fairing they are powered by a 1000 watt amp. The speakers sound great they have good bass and are clear. I can hear my music over the wind and loud pipes. You can't beat them for the price. UPDATE, I was having problems with the speakers getting hot, I changed amps and got a Rockford Fosgate, it helped out and made the speakers sound better. The magnet in the speakers was steal getting hot. Sound-wave where I bought them was great in communitation, while I was trying to figure out what was wrong they were telling me they would swap for new speakers. Even though I had them over 30 days they gladly swapped for 4 new speakers.

These are good speakers, however, they would sound much better with an amp helping them. I will resubmit a review after I hook them to an amp
