Sony DRX-830U 18X External USB 2.0 Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive

I've only used my Sony DRX830U drive one time. I used it to record a DVD from my digital camera. The result was a good quality DVD of my grandsons. It took me awhile to figure out how to work the program. My computer knowledge is limited. I had to print off the entire manual and follow the step by step directions. At any rate, I am satisfied with the results thus far.

This Sony drive is the best . I have bought and used 3 of them out. It burns flawlessly and reads you dvd movies or programs on the computer with no problem. It is exceptional. If I need another Ill look for the same kind. I love Amazon and I always look there before anywhere else to get my merchandise.

I bought this used, so the surface scratches and dents were to be expected. I am not sure if it is necessarily a defect, but sometimes I hit the eject button and the disk does not eject.

It didn't work.

This CD~DVD burner was exactly what I wanted. The instructions were simple and easy to understand. I did not have any problems getting it set up and ready to use. Nice backup for all my files.

This DVD burner is amazing I now own 2. It works with mac and pc and I have been able to put all kinds of stuff on disk. Its top notch.

Despite the box saying Windows-only compatibility, this DVD burner works just fine my Mac Powerbook with Toast 8. However, the burn speed is far slower than Sony claims. I was only able to get around 5x burns with 16x DVD media. It may due to its vertical orientation (vertical drives must burn slower). But overall, a very nice, inexpensive no-frills DVD burner.
