I stayed with my dad when he was on Hospice. As he got weaker, he started to have some falls. I bought the gait belt and placed it loosely around his waist and when he wanted to walk somewhere, I'd slide my hand under the the belt (on his backside) and would walk next to him. It kept him walking steadily and helped him keep walking "on his own".

60" is twice as long as I need. The extra length constantly gets in the way.The therapist showed me how to put it around my mother. But left out the little details thatthe buckle should have the teeth to the outside,high enough to find support if there is no waist to grip,tight enough to still let your fingers get under itand release the belt teeth by grabbing the center of the buckle.Definitely watch some video. We kept trying to lift my mother with it. Rather than using it as a safety measure.

I am so glad I bought this belt. I can keep it around my husband to help with his balance, standing and getting seated. This belt is sturdy and well made. It is easy to use and trust that it will support his weight.

This belt is easy to put on and is very sturdy. It has lasted through many showers and "holds." The purple color is great too!

My wife was in the hospital/Nursing home total 66 days from covid pneumonia. She has to learn to walk again. This is exact same thing that the therapist used to give her confidence that someone could catch her if she started to fall.
