Yes, it does. It has an Automatic Shut Off that protects the tire Inflator.

Q: Does this unit have an auto shutoff at desired air pressure?

yes it has a auto stop at the pressure you set. You set the pressure by pushed the + or - buttons to increment the desired stop pressure, say 35 psi. After setting it, will blink a few times then you start the pump and will push air and stop at 35 psi for example. They claim 1% accuracy but in my test I measured, the actual stop pressure was 8% low to the pressure set in the dial

Q: how much current does it draw from 12v adapter in the car?

By adapter you mean the cigarette light. The compressor will draw up to 25 amps to run. Probably not the best to use the cigarette lighter but attach directly to the cars 12v battery using the supplied alligator clips.
