Fun project to install.
Very nice hinge. I purchased it and installed it under 45 minutes (including clean up).The only 'hard' part was pressing the pin button to remove the pin. I had to use a plier because the pin button was very tiny to press. The additional tools I used to make the drilling easier for me (novice) was an "Automatic Center Punch" to help start the process. You may need a 2nd person to brace the bbq itself while you drill.I used a uni-bit to drill the holes. Then drilled the hole from the reverse side to make sure I got a 'clean' drill hole. You may want to have a shop vac next to you to catch all the metal shavings from the drilling after you're done. After installation, it works great. While I had all the tools out, I installed a thermometer into the lid as well. So the BBQ is ready to go. Just need the weather to clear up a bit.So it's not a clip on. You need a few tools to install it. But very happy to install it. Now I don't have to put the lid on the ground anymore or try to 'hook' it onto the side.

The best Weber Kettle Grill Hack!
After looking at all of the reviews and pics I knew I had to pull the trigger on this grill mod. The steel is definitely a thick quality and sturdy for holding the lid up once in the lock position. Install was a breeze. I may add another locking hole for further opening the lid to a 90° angle, but for now I can live with it. My lid close evenly sealed shut as if I properly place it on by hand. Maybe after a few cooks I'll do the adjustment. Otherwise definitely a good product..I would definitely order again!

Hinge kit is worth it
Easy install;well made in the USA; holds the Weber kettle lid securely and releases it with a little tug with one hand. It's made it easier for this BBQ n00b to manage the kettle with fewer burns to my person and better results off the grill.

Solid performer
If you have ever done any cooking on a kettle grill, you know the lid is a pain in the ###! This is the solution. Once installed, which is easy, it has a factory appearance and feel. Quality stainless steel. They could have probably cheaped out and used a thinner material, but I am glad they didn't. Solid performer. You do have to drill into your kettle, but the instructions make this super easy. Well worth the money.

I finally like it
The hinge is sturdy and well made, no issues there. I also like that I can separate it when needed. My only complaint was that after initially installing it and using it some, the original placement of the lock bolt that holds the lid open had the lid sitting canted over at about a 75° angle when open, so you get a face full of smoke and heat while tending to your food, which I tried to ignore but eventually annoyed me to the point where I removed the hinge and made a modification to it, to alleviate this problem, which was likely done for safety reasons. By drilling a new hole farther up the hinge body (see picture), I was able to move the lid lock bolt into a more optimal location that now allows the lid to sit at a 90° angle when open. Now, I finally like this hinge.FYI, If you decide to undertake this modification, be aware that the steel this hinge is made of is quite sturdy and it took some sharp drills in order to be able to bore a new hole through it for the new lid lock bolt position. I'm gonna say I'm glad I took the time to remove it prior to doing this, then used a drill press to finish the modification. Doing this on the spot without removing it would've been difficult at best. Now get to it!

Made Weber grilling so much easier
If you don't have this for your Weber, you should get it. It has made grilling so much easier. Just lift the lid like normal. It stays up. This hinge is solid and well made. It took about 2 brews to install. Start with a pilot hole and use masking tape so the bit doesn't travel. I placed mine at 11 o'clock facing the grill so I am able to open it with left hand while not having to over-reach the grill. Weber should give the inventor a good paycheck for this. Get it.

Game Changer!
This is a game changer for me! My grill is so much more useable now. I dropped my lid and chipped it, grumble.... I got tired of juggling tools, plates, food.... I now have a wonderful setup and it is a joy to use. Drilling through the finish requires a starter hole, which I started with a ball peen hammer and punch. 6 holes and you are in business. I am very happy!

doesn't work quite as well as the one for my wsm
have this hinge for my 22 wsm, works awesome, wsm lid opens way up. on my weber 26 it doesn't open nearly as high and almost immediately started warping my lid. i drilled 2 more whole in the top section of the hings to put 2 more bolts and nuts in and it has helped and allows it to open more but it's still not enough. if it opened more straight up like it does on my wsm it would be great, on the 26 weber it creates a bit of a heat tunnel that makes it difficult if you're saucing chicken or something like that, too much heat coming directly at you.
