Worked great for our vacation. The metal is sturdy and strong. My husband said he liked how this had the size insert/adapter to give extra support to the umbrella so it didn't wiggle around.

It worked!We have beach umbrellas with built in anchor-screws that work terribly. Removed the built-in ones and now use this product. Very stable. Took a little muscle to put in.

I had my last one (a different brand) for about 8 years until it finally rusted and broke apart. This new beach umbrella stand is a much heavier build. Has a nice powder coat finish and has a quality finish quality. I anticipate this one lasting for many years.

The auger definitely digs into the sand well but I’m thinking it could be a couple inches longer to really get down deeper in soft sand. The first time I used it in a brisk wind, my umbrella pole kept popping out the black cap at the top even with the screw tight. I remedied this by getting a piece of 1 1/4” schedule 80 pvc pipe at Lowe’s. The OD of the pipe fits perfectly down the inside of the auger. I cut the PVC pipe to the same length as the auger and I removed the knob and marked the pipe with a Sharpie then removed the PVC pipe and drilled a hole for the knob’s threaded bolt to fit through. My Ammsun umbrella fits perfectly into the ID of the pipe. It doesn’t move now. I still wish it was a little bit longer to get deeper in the sand.

It works good in the sand

Just used this for a week at the NJ beaches. It worked great, very easy to put in the sand and it holds tight. It is all metal so is sturdy. I don't know if it will rust eventually but looks like strong powder coat paint. I wish the design could feature fold down handles because they stick out of the umbrella bag. It is heavier than the plastic Ammsun model that is $2 cheaper. I did not try that one, but it got good reviews too. I went with the metal one which I perceive would hold better but I did not test the plastic one. If weight is an issue carrying it, I would try the plastic one.

A MUST-HAVE for any beach day. Get two or three. These are perfect for beach umbrellas.
