Hi Tina. I have color-treated hair (not bleached) with light thinning and was using #4 for more than 10 years. I switched a couple years ago when I discovered #6 and felt it would offer more protection and hopefully even better results. Both #4 and #6 have UV protection, which is a plus. Either one would be good, but I don't think I would choose #5. I hope this helps.
