Heats up SUPER fast!
Super convenient for those projects where the cord is ALWAYS getting in the way. I use mine most often for wood working and securing dowels into the the projects. ( yes I know.. wood glue lol but I'm impatient and don't like to wait for it to dry to know it's secure) the high heat and portable design make it great for working outdoors or in the workshop away from power outlets.

Extremely good for what it’s good for and not what it isn’t good for
It sounds like some people tried using this for things that really need a large size hot glue gun, and I can say for sure that this is not going to be suitable for large glue gun jobs. That’s because this is not a large glue gun, it’s a small one that uses the “mini” sticks. And for some all-day sort of jobs no cordless glue gun is going to be suitable. However this thing is great for anything that isn’t going to be worked on all day where the mini stick glue guns are sufficient, and especially good for situations where improved safety is important. The glue gun itself contains some sort of thermal battery (maybe just copper) around the glue stick bore that is designed to store enough heat to melt at least one typical length mini glue stick and retain the heat for a few minutes. The heating element is only powered when it is placed on the base, so after removal from the base it will eventually cool down to where it no longer works. But this seems to take long enough that a decent amount of small glue work can be done before it needs a reheat. The fact that the heating element is not powered when off the base, and the fact that even on the base the power-on time is limited by the electrical battery capacity, makes this design safer for use by anyone prone to leaving this kind of tool plugged in after use. That doesn’t mean it’s perfectly safe if mishandled, but unlike corded hot glue guns the amount of time it can remain powered is limited rather than unlimited. So in summary, this thing is just great for anything small that isn’t going to be worked on all day, but there are obvious cases that it isn’t suitable for. I would not use it for wood gluing large furniture, or expect it to work out well for sealing product packaging over an entire work day. These things need larger glue sticks, longer duty cycles, or both.

This is so cool! Er, hot!
I love this thing! Some things don't need toxic super glue or other messy glue so I wanted to try a Glue Gun and I love Ryobi tools so I got this one and it's great!I have a few things I wanted to use it on, specifically, the Hat you see in the picture.I'm making a hat for Halloween to go as as steampunk vampire type character so I wanted to glue some doodads to my hat as you see. This glue gun worked perfectly. You simply attached a Ryobi battery, slide the switch to on (1) and wait a few minutes, after which the glue is hot and gentle taps on the trigger make hot glue come out, onto your project.Wait a few moments as the glue cools and boom! Done! The fun part, you can glue stuff anywhere without a cord. One thing, get some glue sticks with the purchase because it only comes with 2, which works for a while but you'll need more.Crafts are fun!

best glue gun ever
This is by far the best glue gun I have ever purchased. It doesn't come with the battery or charger but if you have the Ryobi tools it uses the same battery. It is so light weight and amazing. I can't ever see me using a different glue gun after trying this one.

Thought I would love this glue gun. There’s good and bad
There’s good and badSo I had batteries. This glue gun is small and light, fits my hand well with rubber grips, has rubber on the tip to protect from burns. I already had a corded glue gun that takes large glue sticks so I opted for this one rather than the large ruining that has to have battery on it which would be heavy. This charges in the batter like a base and the gun comes out of the base that sits in the battery. Very ingenious design. Props to Ryobi again. And very affordable at 28$ after first use a rubber prong came from Somewhere now it doesNot feed glue Either is won’t feedOr pours glue out
