Fly Tyer Gift Set by Dr. Slick

I have really been enjoying using these tools as I learn to tie flies. I'm glad I chose this set, it has everything you need to get started except the vise.

Excellent quality fly tying tools for the price. The case keeps the tools organized and easy to store. I have no issues with the tools, but the packing was absolutely horrible. No tape whatsoever. Box was falling apart when I picked it up at the post office. Biggest surprise was that the tools and book were still in it.

I am new to tying flies, and this tool set is a great place to start. It has all the basics that you need, and things feel relatively high quality. The only reason to dock a star is that the bobbin feels a little bit flimsy and the thread can catch a sharp edge and break if you aren't careful. Still a good value, however.

The tools are well made and the essential basics to start in fly tying. The first item to upgrade would be the bobbin but having more than one is a good idea anyway. I am an obsolete beginner and my instructor suggested this set. He was correct. Good Value and Quality.

I gave this to my husband as a Christmas gift to use to tie fishing flies. He is a mechanical engineer so quality tools have always been important to him. He was very impressed with this set and loves that it came in a kit. The tools and foam can be removed from the box and the very bottom of the box is material that you can stick your flies too.

Buy either this or the Loon one. Don't waste your money on anything else.

Disappointed in the packaging of the gift set as the box the set was in had opened but luckily there was no damage to the items.
