You using it for an RV fresh water? It can be done just have to buy the fiitings to make it work for your application

Q: Will the new head solve the problem of the cartridge leaks?

Yes. These heads are now manufactured by a different company. There must be a slight variation in the tolerances of the cartridge fitting size. After replacing the old head with the new head, there was no longer a leak between the head and the cartridge.
