Not sure. I first ordered this stuff probably 15 years ago and it was absolutely amazing. Now I wouldn't get it.

It doesn't dry out the scalp, which parabens and sulfates will do, so it probably will help. I like this shampoo and conditioner a lot and have been using it for many years.
