This is a floating dial clock although it is not described as one. Floating dial means that you can see through the clock all around the dial so the background colour around the dial will be the same as the colour of whatever is behind the clock. The clock is no where near worth the cost. Quality could be an issue. When fitting a battery the plastic of the battery casing is so thin you think you may break it. Most clocks of this design are about £20 cheaper. Good time keeper. Does tick but you have to listen for it.
