Q: How do these compare to the $15-$25 spikes sold on Amazon?

I own Kahtoolas and love them but ordered my husband two different pairs of cheaper $25-30 ones on Amazon and you truly get what you pay for. I have returned both of them bc they do not fit snugly and the chain drags on the ground, especially near the arch of the foot (his foot is well within the sizing guidelines for the size purchased). I will be ordering him these now instead of trying to cut costs!

Q: What size for women's medium 8.0

It all depends on the footwear. I chose an extra large because I wear the spikes over a hiking boot size 11 and it is slightly loose. I do prefer that because I am not over stressing the micro spikes fit over the boot. If it was over a regular hiking shoe I would have chosen a large. My advise is size 8 woman's hiking shoe takes a small, a size 8 boot would be a medium.

Q: Has anyone used these with Altras? Just curious if they will fit properly since Altras are so wide.

I used them with the original Lone Peaks, and didn't have any problems.

Q: Every pair of these micro spikes I have owned break where made of rubber. Does anyone have a heavier duty suggestion? Thank you!
