Surprisingly Excellent
This review will be categorical, detailing specific points of interest for this product.-In the Box-The contents of the box included everything that was needed to both mount and operate this device: mounting bracket, mirror unit, 3xAA batteries, squeegee, and silicone adhesive. The instructions for mounting and operation are what we have all undoubtedly come to expect, which is brief; however, the instructions were detailed and consise enough to leave no one confused about how to either instal or use this device.-Installation-The installation instructions call for the use of the adhesive squares attached to the rear of the mounting bracket, as well as the application of the included adhesive silicone. It is important to note here that I DID NOT follow these instructions when mounting this product. Instead, I used Command waterproof mounting strips found below. If you are in any way uncertain when installing this product, I do advise that you follow the included instructions to the letter, as I have likely voided the product warranty by doing what I did.You are going to want to first prep the surface of the shower prior to using any method of installation where adhesive makes contact with the shower wall. As I am sure we are all aware, repeated use of our showers results in this wonderful film that we must clean periodically. Applying any adhesive to that film will cause the adhesive to bond to it, rather than the wall surface. I used a healthy amount of Windex Commercial, because it contains ammonia. Why? Because a good portion of the cleaners we use on a daily basis leave a residue of thier own, which can and will interfere with adhesion. I allowed the Windex to sit on the surface for approximately 2-3 minutes before using an abrasive pad to scrub the wall. I then used a dry cloth to wipe away the moisture before using an alcohol prep pad on the surface I had just cleaned. The instructions do call for the use of alcohol, and you may find this an unnecessary step, here's why it isn't: when exposed to air, alcohol evaporates without leaving any sort of residue, which ensures that the adhesive can bond directly to the surface it is being applied to.Once the surface was cleaned, I removed the adhesive squares from the back of the mounting bracket, replacing them with the Command mounting strips (see included picture for placement). I allowed the shower wall and mounting strips approximately 2-3 minutes before applying the bracket to the shower wall. I then applied pressure to the bracket, to seat the mounting strips, for appoximately 30 seconds. At this point I applied pressure to the tray on the bracket to ensure a solid bond before hanging the mirror unit. You will notice that I again applied pressure to the tray on the bracket once the mirror unit was in place (see included picture), deflecting the tray quite a bit. I did this to demonstrate the effectiveness of the above installation. While I have no doubt this unit will stay where it is until the end of time (I have hung heavy LED units with command strips that are in place after over a year), there is absolutely nothing wrong with the recommended installation. The adhesive squares in combination with the silicone will hold the unit in place so long as you properly prep the surface. I have read a few reviews of people gripping about the unit not staying in place, and that is because they didn't properly prepare the surface. You can glue a Buick to the side of a building, so long as the surface is properly prepared (Of course, there are other considerations when one decides to glue a car to a building, but I think you get my point).Command Strips: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WSNM9Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1-In the Shower-Filling the unit is pretty straightfoward and easy, with the top of the unit housing a fairly large opening to accomodate filling. I used hot water as instructed, and was surprised that the only thing that wound up on the surface of the mirror were water dropplets from splashing. I have used other units, even units that continiously cycle water behind the mirror, and all of them have devolped "fog". Using the mirror was pretty simple, though it is constructed in such a way as to magnify your face (or whatever you happen to want to aim the mirror at), so you do need to be standing fairly close to get an undistorted reflection. The magnification made shaving my face easier than using a conventional wall mirror, primarily because I could literally see the pores in my face. As I mentioned, water droplets did form on the surface of the mirror, and the included squeegee worked to clear them . The squeegee is not long enough to clear the mirror in one pass, but I didn't have to spend more than a few seconds using it to get a clear reflection. All in all, I was pleased with the mirror.-The Light-The light on the mirror is simple to activate, and is bright enough to illuminate your face if you need it. I have a light built in to my shower, so I found no benefit in having a lit mirror. If you shower in a cave however, you will likely find it quite useful. The button on the side of the unit used to activate the light is easy to access, and doesn't provide so much resistance that you need to be concerned with displacing the mirror.-The Pivot-The mounting bracket has a built in pivot you can used to adjust the angle of the mirror up and down, which I found to be quite useful. Not only was I able to use the mirror to shave my face, but the angle of the mirror also allowed me to groom my chest as well. I suppose it goes without saying, but you could potentially use this mirror to shave any body reqion you so desired, depending on the mounting location of the mirror. I noticed a few reviews that mentioned the noise the pivot makes when using it, as well as the fear of catastrophic failure as a result. The pivot has teeth and uses friction to hold the mirror at the desired angle, so that is the "snapping" sound heard when adjusting the angle. I played with the pivot pretty vigorously, and the mirror didn't snap free and become airborn, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.-The Tray-The tray that is part of the mounting bracket is plastic, but fairly rigid. I was able to apply a good bit of pressure to the tray without causing a great deal of deflection. Given the space between the mirror unit and the tray, you will have no issue storing your razor as depicted. The tray will accomodate any small item(s) not prone to rolling without concern of the tray deflecting and dropping it.-Conclussions-All in all, this is an excellent product that does everything that it claims to do. The mirror and the mounting braket are solidly made, and the anti-fog system works flawlessly in my experience. The magnification and pivot make the mirror fairly versatile. It is easy to instal, easy to fill, and easy to maintain; which makes this mirror worth the price-point.

The best customer support I have ever experienced! Great improved product.
Day 1: I received this item in the mail a few hours ago. Out of the box I noticed a scratch on the frame of the mirror but decided it will be forgotten in time. I followed the directions, cleaned the wall surface with soap and water, then with alcohol and waited for the surface to dry. When I tried to apply the silicon glue to the frame I realized the contents of the tube were dried up, nothing was coming out and it was completely useless. Fortunately I had some Gorilla glue and used that in combination with the sticky back tape that came in the box to attach the frame to the tiled wall. I immediately realized the plastic frame is not straight. Trying to push it down to the tile was a complete waste of time and eventually I had to settle for holding it down with some masking tape. I will remove the tape to see how well it is attached tomorrow and will share the rest of my findings then. So far, I will give it a generous 1 out of 5.Day 2: My substitute gorilla glue has dried and I attached the mirror. After an hour run on the treadmill it was time to take a shower and give the new mirror a try. I followed the instructions, removed the mirror and filled the reservoir in the back with warm water from the shower and true to their word the mirror did not fog up once during my long hot shower! I shaved with the LED lights on and it was nice to actually see me face clearly for a change :) I had been using the same old Z'fogless mirror for a few years and it was pretty scratched up from falling and a bit tarnished from constant humidity. So, I upgrade my rating from 1 to 3 stars and will hold my final judgement until more use. I should also note that I received a very timely response to my initial post from the President of the company owning up to the problems and willing to do whatever is necessary to make things right with me. I have to admit that kind of customer service is very nice and representative of a caring company. I have a few thoughts/suggestions to make this a better product. Some of these may prove to be unnecessary after further use but here they are anyways:1. Better quality of glue or perhaps two tubes from different batches/suppliers in case one is dried up :)2. Better quality control to make sure there are no scratches on the mirror or its frame. This may be very difficult to do as I am sure they are manufactured in China and are handled by people during assembly and packing so it is impossible to avoid a few small scratches every once in a while. Having said that, for this amount of money at retail I think a perfect product is more fitting and expected. Those with tiny scratches and other small imperfections can be sold through liquidators and in other markets at lesser prices.3. I am a bit concerned about the wear and tear of the plastic tilting mechanism over time. Using metal parts would have been worse given rusting problems but perhaps making that portion removable and replaceable would be a good idea for the next generation. Also, it is hard to remove the mirror without causing some tilting as it is sort of flimsy. Perhaps this is an area where some improvement can be made in the next version.4. I realize filling the reservoir with hot water is the key to keeping the mirror from fogging up but perhaps there is a better way to empty and refill the reservoir without having to remove it and having to deal with all the tilting issues and any chances of dropping and scratching the mirror. A tube with a valve at the bottom of the mirror can be used to drain the reservoir and another with a large funnel like top can be used to refill it. I realize this is a rather rudimentary approach but I am sure the designers of the product can think of more innovative approaches to tackle this challenge.5. Having batteries in any device near the shower and water and keeping them from rusting is rather challenging. We will see how well these are sealed over time.In conclusion, after one use, the mirror works as advertised and the lighting is a nice useful feature. I will update my findings over time so stay tuned. Of course my wife still has to use it and she may have a thing or two to add :)Week 2: The Gorilla glue I used to attach the mirror base to the wall has held up fine and when filled with warm water the mirror does not fog but that is all the positives I can say about it while giving myself credit for using a better grade of glue since I had no choice. Unfortunately, already the mirror can not hold the weight of the water it needs in order of it to work as advertised. This is due to the cheap plastic mechanism used to set the angle of the mirror which I do not change but gets moved everyday when I have to remove the old water and add fresh warm water. Further, the adding and emptying of water has become a time consuming pain which requires one to also wipe the water drops from the surface of the mirror. The supplied blade is also not perfect in removing the water from the surface and leaves many trails on the mirror. A better design would have used batteries and an electrical filament to heat the back of the mirror quickly even if it would have required more or separate batteries. In all, I find this mirror to be of very poor quality and am going to send it back. I only hope to be able to remove the base from the wall without breaking it or leaving a mark on the tiles. Btw, it was nice to hear back from the President of the company after my first post but there was absolutely no follow up after that. I suppose it was all for show specially since he did not even leave his email address. It is a real shame! In conclusion: "This one belongs to the horror files".2/15/13: The President of the Company, Steve, stayed in touch with me to see how my experience was. After pointing out the deficiencies he immediately sent me an improved mirror that fixed all the issues. I have been using the new mirror for a few weeks and it is flawless. Thank you Steve for an incredible customer support, continuing to listen to your customers and improving your products. I will not think twice about ordering products from you in the future!
