Cast Iron Camp Dutch Oven, 3.9 L, Including Lid Lifter

Great pot for the money suitable for 4 people.It came pre-seasoned, which being a newbie I wanted, this enabled me to use it straight away.I used it over a wood fire, both in and out of the flames hanging from a small camping tripod and cooked a goulash for about 3 to 4hrsAfter cooking it washed up nicely, I dried it very well and wiped it all over with vegetable oil.It didnt need to be re-seasoned, but at the same time I didnt want it to go rusty if I missed a spot whilst drying it.It came with re-season and care instruction and a small pair of red silicon side handle covers so that you could lift it.Hit the helpful button if you though the above was.

On opening package this was a nice per-seasoned black Dutch oven. They say to season again so I seasoned and it came out blacker, great. Then I read to season several times so after the second seasoning things went south... After 6 seasonings I was for dumping it... After the second seasoning I cooked bacon, stuck like hell but I just thought normal. Next day I fried 3 eggs, all stuck but not so bad but the pot was thick with oily grime and I had to scrape it off... I seasoned a further 4 times and things were really going south... My first photo is after the 6th seasoning, the second is after the 7th... What I did differently on the 7th round was heat the pot on the regular cooker ring first then added veg oil when hot and the put in oven at about 220 celcius for 1 hour, this seems to be the trick. This is not on their instructions but it seems to have done the trick for me, for now..

We're delighted with this pot! Our goal is to downsize and this all-purpose Cast iron Dutch oven is part of this plan--to cook all our meals in one pot! But, when it arrived, the lid was not included; so, I contacted the seller and they sent it within a week! It arrived today in perfect condition! In a time when supply chains are seriously compromised and so many people displaced, we are all so vulnerable to things way beyond our control, I am reluctant to ask for anyone to go the "extra mile" ; So, I felt badly troubling Jason at "Crucible" for this item; but, it would have been useless to us without the lid. And he went to a lot of trouble to help us. And honestly, in these times, it's a miracle that any business can function. So, 5 Stars means more than it has ever meant. Thank you, Jason! And Thank you Crucible Cookware.

Very easy to use on an open fire. Cooked a whole chicken easily and it turned out absolutely delicious. The smell was sensational. It’s well made and sturdy and I’m sure it will last a lifetime if it’s looked after properly.

The Dutch oven arrived very quickly, the price of the Dutch oven was very reasonable and the cheapest of the items I sought! Clear and concise instructions were included and better still, the Dutch oven was pre seasoned....

Absolutely fabulous Dutch oven, came well packaged with very easy to follow instructions for reseasoning and proper care for first time users. I got this as a gift to make stews on winter days at my allotment and know it will last until well after I'm gone.
