Digital Coating Thickness Gauge CM-218 Best Mil/Micron Paint Depth Meter for Car and Industrial (Resolution 0.01mils)

I have had this for 2yrs. I never calibrated it or used it on the job I just had it just in case. I finally went to calibrate it properly and tried it a couple times this ERR7 poped up now it won’t read anything. I feel like it was a waste of moneyUPDATE: customer service walked me through a step by step on how to fix and PROPERLY calibrate it. This tool works so much better and accurate now

Unit was delivered on June 6th, but i was not able to check it until July 10th. Unit says "Sensor Error" and will to operate. I tried to return for exchange and was told no return after July 6th. So, i am stuck with a $140 non working unit because I did not get to it until 4 days past the 30 day window. I missed the 30 day return policy and would have gotten to it sooner if I had know, my fault for that, but still not happy at all.This is an update to my review. The company vvv-Group reached out to me and offered to replace the non-working unit. Very good customer service. I updated my review from 1 star to 5 stars as the units works perfectly and is extremely accurate. My only wish would be that the calibration process be better explained in the very small manual, but like i said, the unit came calibrated and was extremly accurate upon arrival.

I almost had to return this. Until I realized that the materials in the box NEED to be used for proper calibration. There’s 6 items in the box, but the calibration asks for 7. So I just used the 6th one twice. Not sure if this affects the accuracy.The instructions are worthless. I’m glad I got this thing to work correctly. I was about to buy a $500 coating meter.

Great product that's easy to use on metallic bases. This does not work on fiberglass or carbon fiber substrates. I used it on cars to see if I have enough paint left for wet sanding / polishing.

El medidor es desente en algunas ocasiones mientras que en muchas mediciones realiza mediciones completamente fuera del margen de herror para un equipo de este precio.Estoy muy disgustado con el servicio de Amazon que cada día es peor . Amazon se está desmoronando y llegará el momento que nadie confíe en la atención al cliente de Amazon. Amazon ya no le importa nada al respecto de los problemas de devolución e inquietudes de sus clientes. Totalmente decepcionado con el servicio actual de Amazon.
