Bionex - New Biodegradable Sugarcane Straws, (8" Length straw), (100 straws/box) Alternative to Plastic

Searching for a straw made in the USA (not just distributed from), BPA-free, and usable for both my grandkids and me (hot and cold drinks). Am very pleased with these straws. They did not "soften" in my coffee (dentist likes folks to use straws to prevent stains on front teeth)- in fact I used it as a "stir" stick for my collagen powder. Even able to wash it out and re use. Perfect for the children's cups for my grand kids-- narrow enough to dispense fluids appropriately, good length for fitting in their cups. Strongly recommend these straws.

These straws are absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Why aren’t every restaurant going with this company?!? These straws hold up for DAYS! I keep one in my travel water cup and after a full day of usage and it wasn’t soggy at all! I left a straw in a can of seltzer overnight just to see and it was still fine! Buy these straws! They completely breakdown in 6 months according to the packaging. No odd taste. My only hope is that they can design a ‘bendy’ straw so it will be easier for my little one to use.

I purchased these straws mainly for the color... it was a plus that they were biodegradable and earth-friendly. They were a great addition to the coffee bar... also purchased were the brown disposable coffee cups with black lids and the clear cups for iced coffee. The straw did to crack, they were sturdy. No taste. They were great size. The box that they came in was a little flimsy, as it seems like the cardboard was also recycled. (which turns out to be a great thing for the environment but not so much for holding the straws in the box... lol). Aside from packaging, the straws were great.

OK, so I did not use these for drinking. I needed something to encourage bees to visit my vegi garden. I bunched them together in an old plastic cup and left it up high in some vine netting, tied in place. I used wood glue to keep the straws in the cup. I now have plenty of little pollenators doing the work I need done. and they do it in exchange for free (straw) housing. (I pay them with an occasional drop of honey on the edge of the cup.)

We have been searching for an alternative to plastic straws and finally found one!• Paper gets soft and gross.• The corn straws are not biodegradable, they are only compostable under certain conditions, so they are actually the same as plastic when it comes to the environment.• Hay straws are too small.• Sugar cane straws, taste gross in anything dairy like iced coffee.These Bionex straws are amazing! They have no taste, they are durable like plastic, and we finally have an environmentally friendly straw people don't complain about. .. in fact, I don't think anyone even noticed the change.
