Good quality hay
Its well packaged and a softer type of hay. It was fresh and all was good but my chinchilla did not like it. I have given him Timothy hay all his live so maybe that is why. It appeares fresh and softer than timothy hay for sure as well as thinner strands.

8 out 10 boxes are perfect!
I have purchased this hay consecutively for 4 years now and specifically 16 times over the past year. I have 4 guinea pigs who plow through hay. This hay is tasty and wonderful, HOWEVER, statistically... 2 out of every 10 boxes I'll order is crappy. In the "bad boxes" the hay will be super super dusty and short making it extremely messy/dusty to use and undesirable to the pigs. It seems those "bad boxes" are the bottom of their bin/harvest. I wish the company would quality control those "bottom barrel" scraps and not sell them because i end up throwing the box away almost immediately due to unhappy pigs, the dusty mess, and uselessness. I will continue to buy their product but it's a gamble. Unfortunately my last box was a waste of $28 - I attached the photo of the "short hay" and notice the intense dust along the bag! Overall the product is worth the money, but don't be shocked if you get a "bad box"

Great hay!
this hay is great! I switched to orchard grass because my bunnies weren’t eating timothy hay very well. they MUCH prefer this and this box is huge and there was very little to no dust included in the box so the hay is less messy and lasts a while :)

Orchard hay is less allergenic than Timothy and this price is better than Chewy.
I have a rescue rabbit named Alfie and unfortunately it's sometimes difficult to find orchard hay which I prefer because it's less allergenic than Timothy Hay. And this is the best price I could find. Better than Chewy.

Do not recommend the 25 lb boxes
I hate to write this because I love Oxbow products, but the 25 pound hay boxes are a huge disappointment and waste of money. I started with Timothy hay in the 25 pound size and was extremely disappointed with the quality. A lot of very long, yellow, hard stems in there as well as an unbelievable amount of dust and pieces too small to use. My guinea pigs weren't eating as much of it and there was so much that was wasted. So I decided to try the Orchard with hopes it would be better. No luck. Very dry with a lot of yellow and brown pieces. I though the dust and tiny pieces may be better since Orchard is usually less dusty to begin with, but no, just as bad. My husband has developed extreme allergies to the hay in the larger sized boxes because of all the dust and small bits. My guinea pigs are sneezing more when they're in their hay piles and again, not eating as much of it. I had hoped to save some money with the larger size boxes since I have a herd of 8 guinea pigs, but I guess I'll have to go back to the 9 pound boxes. I never had an issue with any of those, great quality every time.

Ben hier zo blij mee :-)

Hit and miss with any hay, depending on the season and crop. Sometimes the hay is bright green and fragrant and other times duller with brown stands. Too much dust and short strands, for such expensive hay, and the price is crazy for hay. I do favor oxbow or small pet select for orchard hay, much better for those with allergies and hayfever
