What is Cupping Therapy? Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. Good value for your money
SPEQUIX 3 PCS Silicone CupI am unfortunate enough to have ongoing problems with lower back pain due to scoliosis this is a long term problem so I am always on the lookout for anything that might ease the pain. I have read about the benefits of cupping therapy on several occasions and half thought about trying it but never went ahead. When I saw the SPEQUIX cups I finally thought “why not give it a try?” So I asked for some to be sent.As soon as they arrived, I used the largest cup first, on the area of my back that was giving me pain at that moment. I found it almost unbelievable but I started to feel some relief almost immediately. I tried the middle size cup on the side of my hip joint which also gives me considerable pain. This was not so successful, despite leaving the cup on for some time the pain remained the same. Maybe my hip pain just needs longer to respond, maybe I will try the large cup instead, I will persevere and may update this review later. The large and middle-size cups are a useful size but, for me, the smallest cup doesn’t have very much use. I would prefer to have a set with just three of the large size or perhaps two large and a middle size cup. There is no doubt that having someone else apply the cups is easier but I can reach most areas of my body and squeezing one edge of the cup generates enough suction to hold in place and work effectively. In short, the SPEQUIX silicone cups do have a marked effect in some areas. For sixteen quid I think they are good value for your money.

Easy to bruise yourself
It’s not really too difficult to use these, although I don’t find they work very well in the shower as they keep coming off. I prefer to use them with body oil before a shower.I’m not over keen on the small or large cups, the medium sized one is most usable, since I am targeting thighs and bum.The most tricky bit is how to get the correct level of suction. When you initially apply the suction cup you squeeze it and allow it to suck your skin in, then begin moving it around. The problem is, if you don’t squeeze hard enough the cup comes off really easily as soon as you get to a less flat area (eg. Going round your thighs and up to your bum).If you squeeze a little bit too hard, you end up with lots of small and medium size bruises. This isn’t ideal, especially if it’s in an area you’d have exposed while fully clothed. After using the cup for 5-10 minutes I can get a crazy amount of circulation going. My skin will be red and warm. The cups are very easy to clean and dry. Just use normal soap and water then leave them to air dry.Due to the difficulty in not bruising myself, I have not ended up using these as frequently as I’d hoped I might, and therefore have not really noticed any tangible difference.I haven’t ever used a different suction cup, but I think the product itself seems fine, it’s just I’m not sure it’s a technique that I particularly like due to the bruising.

Easy to use and decent instructions
I'm happy that they didn't assume that I would know what to do with these cups and did provide some guidance as to how to use them and what to use them for. I wanted them for toning up my stomach area and it seems that I can use the larger 2 for that purpose; the smallest one is for the face. It is best to use on the face in the shower while washing as you shouldn't leave it in place as it can cause bruising but I found the small cup moved nicely over my face with just my regular day cream on my skin. You can either move them around, keep pulling them on and off or leave them in place for 30 minutes. I have visited a Chinese doctor in the past and he used to put glass cups on my back, sucking the air out with a lighted match; I think for home use these silicone ones are safer as you don't have to play with fire. It's easy enough to get them off, all you have to do is squeeze so that some air gets into the cup, so you don't need to pull it off and hurt yourself. As well as toning, they can also be used for pain. I have a muscular pain in my left rib, so I'm trying it on that, so far it hasn't helped but I've been suffering with this for a few years now, so I'm not expecting instant miracles. They come with a handy drawstring bag to keep them in but since the plastic bag they came in contains the usage instructions, I'll be keeping mine in that.

A celebrity spa treatment in your own home
This is the first time I have tried cupping. This set comes with 3 cups that vary in size and can fit inside each other for storage. The included booklet shows the method and direction to place and manoeuvre the cups.(There are also some useful videos on YouTube)I found the method to suction the cups is to press the tops not squeeze the sides this gives a better suction and they tend not to pop off, also if you apply lotion to the area you wish to massage you can sweep them around easily. that is one method.Another method is you can leave them in place for up-to 30 minutes. The third method is to squeeze suck move repeat, but I personally did not try that as I was worried about bruising. They definitely increased blood flow to the massaged area.I have not tried them for pain relief so can not comment on if that would work or not. They are super easy to wash being made of silicone and as I mentioned they nestle inside each other and have a drawstring pouch included to keep them in.They are a nice item and something that I will use regularly.
