Ohmygosh, I LOVE this Curling Wand - It's WAY Better than Anything Else I've Used - Here's Why
Ohmygosh, I LOVE this curling wand!! First, let me qualify: I have owned *many* different electric curling products over the years, including multiple regular curling irons; these: Conair Instant Heat Rollers ; these: Conair Jumbo Hot Rollers , at least two other curling wands; and then this: Bed Head Ceramic Bubble Iron (by the way, I also *love* the Bubble Iron - however I have given away everything else..the rollers, the other curling wands, etc.. The only two styling devices I now use (unless you count my blow dryer) are the Bubble Iron, and this curling wand.My hair is about the same length (and colour!) as the model in this listing. In other words, my hair is quite long. It also is very fine, and has *never* held a curl for more than about 5 seconds (ok, I exaggerate, however, seriously, the curl usually starts relaxing, and starts its descent into falling out, right away). Here is what I love (LOVE!) about this curling wand:Unlike any other curling wand I've used (or seen), it has a little tiny clip at the base (honestly I think 'Hedwig and the angry inch' every time I use it). This is the *perfect* compromise between the full-length clip on curling irons of yore (which didn't allow you to easily slide the barrel of the iron out of your curl without having to actually *unwind* the curl) and most contemporary curling wands which have no way to keep your hair on the barrel short of either burning your fingertips while trying to hold on to the end of your hair to keep it all from sliding off, or using those ridiculous, cumbersome "don't burn your fingertips you moron" gloves that come with them. This little stubby clip is *perfect*! You clip the very end of the hair into it, then wind the wand, and when your hair is cooked you just release that little baby clip and the barrel slides right out of your hair, *leaving the curl intact!*Now, speaking of burning your fingertips, another feature I love is that the very tip of this curling wand is *not hot*, in fact it is by design not part of the hot barrel, so that you not only have no excuse for burning your fingertips, but you also *don't scald your scalp* when your hair is rolled up onto the barrel, waiting to be baked into that perfect curl! Finally, the curls actually stay in! At least quite a bit longer than with any other electric styler (curls from the electric rollers fell out nearly immediately). One last note: Your curls will last literally all night and into the next day (!) if you use this wand with this (cruelty-free vegan!) heat protectant styling spray: Kenra Hot Spray #20 .Seriously, a few nights ago I curled my hair with the wand and the Kenra spray, and went out *dancing for several hours*, and when I got home my hair still looked just as good - and it looked good (looser, but still very good) the next day, after I'd slept on it!So, if you are on the fence about whether to order this curling wand, I say go for it, you won't be sorry!(The reason I still keep the bubble wand is for super-fast, beachy waves when I'm in an uber-hurry. But if I had to have only *one* styling product, it would definitely be this curling wand. :-) )

Professional Results
This review is for the Elechomes EB201 Studio Digital Ceramic Curling Wand. I received this product for a fair and impartial review. This review is based on observations from my wife's use of the curling iron. The curling iron has adjustable heat settings for any type hair, light/thin, thin-medium, and thick/coarse. When the iron is powered on, you have about 5 seconds to manually set the temperature before it locks to the default setting of 160°C/320°F. After that you will have to unlock the temperature setting. The ceramic barrel of the iron tapers from 1/2-1 inch with a athermic tip that stays cool to the touch. There were several features that my wife liked about it and one warning for some users. She liked the fact that the power cable rotated 360 degrees, allowing the iron to be rotated while styling. There is a hanging hook built-in to the base of the power cord also. Another feature she particularly liked was the auto power off if no use within 30 minutes. it has a stand integrated into it allowing it to be placed on a counter. The iron quickly heated to the desired temperature so there is practically no waiting. She found the LCD display was clear and easy to read the heat settings. Her one warning that doesn't detract from the features but is nevertheless something that people with short hair should be aware of. The spring loaded clip at the base of the iron isn't very long so someone with short hair will have a problem clipping their hair into it without burning their fingers.Other than that one warning, she was very pleased with the overall performance of the curling iron and actually plans on purchasing another one as a gift.

Excellent heating mechanism, but awkward design
This curled my hair beautifully, but I found it difficult to use. Curling wands are meant to be used with the cord up usually, but this cord is thick and stiff and was hard to maneuver. I also found the tiny clip to be awkward. It was too small to conveniently use to grab hair, but was big enough to get in the way and snag hair on. I burned the heck out of my hands when I used it, but that's probably my fault.Heating wise, it heated up quickly and was very easy to use. You can select what temperature you want the barrel to reach and it stays hot throughout use. I occasionally pressed the buttons by accident while using it, which is a common annoyance on hair appliances. But my hair did stay curly and mostly frizz-free for hours. All in all, this is a good curling wand. I'm just not sure curling wands are for me.

Good for long hair but not for my shorter style
I'm giving this 4 stars but only because I think this is a good product and would work with longer hair. It did not work with my shorter layered below-the-earlobe length. It didn't stay on. Also, my hair is very soft so that added to the inability to have it stay on. The vendor said that maybe if I wore gloves it would help; but I'm not wearing gloves, so that's that. Basically I think this would be good for long hair where there is more hair to wrap. Anyway, this was a test to see if I'd like this type of wand and the test showed that I don't, but - as I said - only because my hair is short. I might have a different view if I had longer hair. So I can't give it a 5 since it didn't work for me; but I do think that the product is a good one.
