works great
waited a year to review to make sure no glitches. i would never go back to gas or standard electric ranges.heats pans very fast. surface remains hot after cooking but nothing like a regular range. easy to clean. my only serious complaint is that the heating elements become dislodged in transit. the unit must be opened and the elements repositioned. i did this myself but some people may want a professional to help. i installed power line: some may want an electrician to do this. with all glass top ranges, i am concerned about dropping something on it and breaking the glass - which would render the unit unuseable. overall positive experience. would buy again.

Cooks food and stuff....
What do you want? It's a cooktop, it cooks food. Not with just any old pot or pan, you need steel or iron for this, but that's how induction cooking works...It's a great value, works great, boils water super quick. I have noticed a bit of electrical whine at times, especially with my tea kettle, but then again, it boils water super quick, so who cares? The slide to set "feature" is a bit of a pain, especially if you only want to go up or down a notch. But it's not rocket science either...I would totally recommend this at $800 and even more so if it goes on sale!

Works great!
2 of the burners needed to be seated as previously addressed. Annoying but not a major hassle. Took maybe 5-10 mins. They should adjust the mounting brackets design to avoid that hassleBoils water in about 3 minutes and far superior to the electric cooktop it replaced during a kitchen. renovation. Easy to clean up, very response and quiet. I did need some new cookware but I already expected that. Installation was simple enough.

Product Quality verses Good Product
This is a challenging review for me. I love my new induction cooktop, the speed and evenness it cooks at verses my previous radiant cooktop, and the ease of cleaning the smooth touch control glass top are amazing, but these upsides would likely be the same with any induction cooktop on the market, so I am not basing the review on those features, otherwise it would have to be five stars. The reason for the "One Star" is two fold. First and most important is the design issue with the induction elements not being secure enough to survive shipping. Mine unit (like so many others in these reviews) had two of the elements off center, the large center element was off by about 3 inches. The thing that bothers me most about this is that there are so many easy/inexpensive ways to fix this, and judging from the number of reviews and Youtube videos that address this, the manufacturer has to know about the problem and yet does not fix it. That's inexcusable. It may be an easy repair for some people, but it should not be necessary. The second issue is that the hardware for installing in a granite countertop was not included. Honestly its about $2 worth of brackets/screws/and silicon and they want $150 for it. That's criminal (or should be).The price of this verses the other induction cooktops made up for the extra work, but I'll definitely think twice about buying another Frigidaire product.

Scratches easily
The Frigidaire FFIC3026TB Induction Smoothtop is easy to install. Once you adapt to the controls they are straight forward and easy to use. It does heat quickly and evenly. We found the initial appearance to be clean and attractive. Unfortunately, it is exceptionally easy to scratch. In 20 years of use, we never managed to scratch our old Ceran Glass cooktop. Our new Frigidaire Induction stove-top scratched the very first time it was used. After a few months of use, it is a maze of scratches. Any side to side or twisting of a pot or pan will leave permanent scratches. The unit is also difficult to keep looking clean. We use the recommended cleaners and procedures but the top always looks filmy. Good function but looks scratched and filmy from first use.

GOOD JOB AMAZON
The cooktop arrived ahead of schedule and much quicker than I thought possible. The box was left on my porch by UPS without a knock on the door or a ring of the doorbell, it had punctured and tears, I photographed it before opening it. My fears were unjustified but was mystified how it travel all the way from China so poorly contained.Everything was intact, with an obvious omission, foam tape to act as a seal between the cooktop and countertop. In figure 1. of the installation instructions is a reference to the cooktop screws, these attached angle brackets contact the countertop leaving a small space between each bracket for liquids to run through. A thin foam tape used for sealing windows can be bought at any hardware store. On the ++ side the price is unbeatable in the big box stores. It replaced a GE induction cooktop and without any alterations fit perfectly. The controls though functionally the same were different, that is the slide to change the power levels and the on/off sequences.

Super cooktop at a great price!!
My Kenmore Induction Cooktop was fried by a power surge (Thanks but not, PEPCO!) This Frigidaire has exactly the same features, seems to actually achieve a higher top temp and costs half what the Kenmore did. Shipping issues mentioned in other reviews were not an issue. My son installed it for me (easy-peasy altho he is a wiz. ❤️him.) It's a great cooktop, so much easier to clean than a electric coil or gas cooktop (no exposed burners or wells, it's magic!!) I am very happy with it and thrilled to be able to cook inside again, on four burners yet. Yahoo!
