Selfish heroine
Ben is a family bodyguard who broke Bridget’s heart when he left without an explanation five years earlier. He did it to protect her, and now he’s come back to get his girl.I liked Ben okay but never understand what he saw in Bridget. That girl is twenty-seven years old and could give any thirteen year a run for the money. She is constantly screaming and throwing major childlike tantrums. She’s isn’t quite as bad once you get past the first quarter of the book, but she isn’t good either. Bridget doesn’t listen, she assumes the worst and runs off without thinking. When Ben finally explains his reasons for leaving, she throws it in his face and leaves him. Again. The reason is important and her actions prove how selfish and egotistical she is.The ending was better, but by then I wasn’t a Bridget fan at all and wanted Ben to move on.

Emotionally Gripping, and Engaging. A Winner!!!
Can one get enough of Swans books?Bridget was left wondering about Ben. Five years later he shows up to reclaim his girl only to find out that all wasn’t what he thought.Well what did you think Ben? You’ve been sketchy. Vague has been your strong suit, and hiding behind your fears has caused everyone to question your motives, including yourself.Oh Ben, Ben, Ben. Yes let’s talk Ben. You’ve re-entered our lives with the force of a sports car at the speed of 0 to 100 in seconds. You’re hot, dominating, and command our attention. After convincing Bridgett to give you another chance, like she had a choice in the matter lol, move over any man who tries to look her way, you both give your friendship/relationship another shot. Now Ben you have a past, one that’s as mysterious as your bedroom eyes, and it catches up with you. Once Pandora’s box is opened, an engaging series of events takes place that trap us in your web and take us hostage. We are thrust into Your and Bridget’s hurricane of sex, adventure, drama, love and tragedy. This is one book I put down to grab the puffs and had a good cry, trying to find a semblance of understanding or even irony in the story at one point. Yes, that part stung like a bee. However, in the end you will virtually want to hug every character. Give the author high fives, and hugs. Thanking her once again for bringing you one of the hottest, most sexy and emotionally gripping books yet.

This was a really great book. I have followed the Stanton family from the beginning and this was a great addition/spin-off. Yes you can read it as a stand-alone BUT I highly suggest reading the previous books. Not because you need more information but because it will really help you love the characters that much more. This story is a second chance romance. In this book they get the chance to fix what went wrong 5 years earlier. Never getting over each other to begin with doesn’t help Bridget when Ben shows up demanding a second chance. So so good! Cue the drama of a jealous Army sex maniac! Bridget tries to protect herself by refusing him despite her heart feeling otherwise. There is so much more story to be told aside from them figuring out the ‘will they or won’t they’ you will be surprised at what is to come. The story felt very real, and grown up, a true romance. No bullshit, no frills, no nonsense. It was funny, dramatic and raw. The character development was great. I didn’t rush the read even though I wanted to. It was lovely and heartfelt. These two together have been on a journey with too many ‘what if’s’ to make you want to pull your hair out.Hot HOT sex scenes! Ben is a man you will want to climb on and stay on! Ben is dominate in the bedroom but Bridget is Bridget and she also takes what she wants too. It was a good balance. Thoroughly enjoyed reading these wicked parts!Overall a great book. Don’t have any complaints. This is just a really really good read!!

Great Story line but.....
Loved this book. I liked the characters and the story line but there were many errors. Spelling as well as wrong words being used all together. There were also so many repetitive lines, being repeated by different characters in the book that just made me cringe. Also, Ben - main alpha-male character is very likeable and every woman's dream man, but there were few moments where he was alpha and very confident if not cocky one minute and very insecure and "not good enough" and far from confident just a minute later....lol .... Bridget....where do I begin....from being supportive and understanding and so in love to childish behavior & not being able to forgive or forget something that is ridiculous and should make her proud instead of acting like a little 2 year old with attitude was mind bugling and I found it annoying. Overall great story line, loved the plot, many twists and turns, love the lover between characters, I liked it when Ben shows up at first and takes what is his, but found it frustrating when he acts so unsure of himself in the later part of the book. It could have been written a bit better with more research done beforehand. Also the "swallowing lump in his/her throat was soooooo overdone!!!! They were doing that constantly....lol

Errrm where to start
Although a good read i just found myself just annoyed at times. Bridget acts like a child who's not navigated adult womanhood for a while. Tantrums and throwing stroppy behaviour at every turn instead of rationalising the situation before throwing her toys out of the pram.I found statham to be one thick military/delta guy. Some of the things that he couldn't decipher just were very basic servillian things to me. It just got annoying when at every turn it seemed like he had to babysit Bridget's tantrums. Another thing, if you need a proof reader, I'm here. I cant stand a book full of spelling mistakes. Also your descriptive language of the characters need to improve. Describe what they look like so we can imagine that in our minds. This is a book not a movie....remember.. Errrrm where do i begin? I guess i am at the end.

Fantastic five star read!
My word, this book! I love TL's writing with a passion so it's really something when I say that this book is her best yet. Ben and Bridget are my favourite characters out of all the couples in the series so far, I connected with them so much. Ben is a strong, brooding, alpha, sexy hot South African with plenty of secrets who's led a hard dangerous life. Bridget is a confident, sassy, strong, gorgeous Aussie who feels just like she could be your best friend. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat with drama, twists and turns and plenty of sexy moments. Although this is part of a series, TL has written it in a way that you could pick up this book and read as a standalone, although be warned, if you do this you will so want to then go back and read the rest!! I absolutely recommend you one clicking this, it's brilliant, you won't want to put it down!

Promising story but far too many mistakes to ignore
Hmm, well lets start with the good points. A very promising and engaging story line, with likeable main characters. I did feel the various emotions in the story as it unfolded. The story line was enough to get me to the end of the book. Now the areas which could do better. Be aware, there are MANY errors in this book. They range from simple spelling mistakes, to random incorrect words being used "semantics" instead of "details", "he" instead of "she" etc, to more glaring and irritating mistakes like going from saying Didge is naked, to a paragraph later, she removes her clothes again. Or Didge sliding Ben's wedding ring on twice, and she doesn't get one at all. Ben offering someone a drink, then a few lines later, doing it again. It's just really poor copy editing.Lastly, there are areas where the quality of writing is quite week. Certain phrases such as "we kiss, again and again" is used repeatedly in the book, and its not a particularly strong visual to begin with. And lastly, when writing about a moment of confusion for your deep thinking, strong alpha lead it's more than disappointing when his entire internal monologue is "huh?".I really want to like this book, but the constant mistakes were just too distracting and disappointing, so the two stars are for the likability of the characters and the promising story line.

Disappointing
I had high expectations going in to this book, yet find myself quite disappointed. An immature heroine, like a spoilt child stamping her feet when things don't go her way. The hero is supposed to be an alpha but comes across as more of a controlling hothead, and not in an attractive way. Some of the story where you should be hooked into the moment, seem to be glossed over and wrapped up pretty quickly instead of building the suspense, and the editing is poor throughout.Overall I'm very disappointed this came so highly recommended when there are so many problems.

Perfection
This book is absolute perfection, TL Swan has done it again. This is a standalone featuring Bridget and Ben from the Stanton series. I don't want to say too much about the story but I laughed, I cried, I shouted at my kindle and cursed the author!! What a journey with these two great characters. She has written another amazing book, I was hooked from start to finish. I guarantee that you will love it!
