Back Saver
This repaces a shoe horn that was constructed of wood and plastic. It was a great shoe horn but fragile. It broke several time and I was able to make repairs but finally it broke beyond any ability to salvage. This replacement shoe horn is of complete wood construction and will likely be more durable. The portion being inserted into the shoe is a tad narrower than preferred but works well nevertheless. It has an attractive appearance and includes a leather loop for hanging. This is a fine product.

Fine shoehorn!
This is a really nice shoehorn, long enough to be really handy for an older man, well finished and very nice looking too. Glad I got this one!

Good looking and functional show horn with a minor complaint
I have been using this show horn for about two weeks and it works fine. I have no idea what kind of wood this is but the "Rosewood Stain" has a nice look to it. The horn seem sturdy enough although I haven't had any need to put a lot of pressure on it. Its a shoe horn, not a crow bar!The one drawback I have is the width of the horn section. Since this is wood that limits how thin the working end of this item can be. within the first 1/4 inch from the end the width is easily 3/16th" and seems to go to almost 1/4 inch a few inches higher up. This makes the fit a bit tight between your foot and the back of your shoe especially if you shoes are very well fitting. It still works but the tightness can be a little annoying. A metal or plastic shoe horn would generally be much thinner. If the prices are similar a metal or hard plastic how horn of the same length would be more functional although perhaps not as stylish! I'll update this review if I have any problem over time.

What a Nice Treat for Myself
There are lots of long shoe horns available for all sorts of prices. I know because I looked at most of them while trying to decide what to purchase. I decided this wooden shoe horn would be stronger than most; it also looked nice enough to leave it out as it matched the furniture. It didn't look like a cheap piece of plastic, and it's not.Being able to leave it out in the open makes it much easier to find every time I need to use it; and for me, that makes it worth the extra cost. It is definitely quite thick and so will be serviceable for a very long time. If you value the same things that I do, you will find it to be a nice treat for yourself or a nice gift for someone who needs this kind of help.

When a man's reach no longer exceeds his grasp yet he's loath to forfeit heaven
"A man's reach should exceed his grasp -- or what's a heaven for?" When Robert Browning, a true post-Romantic idealist, wrote those words, people didn't live as long and were more likely to find practical satisfaction from the spiritual motivation implicit in such a mandate. They reached for the heavens--and as a consequence of that action managed to lace up their shoes (or find a cooperative servant). But we live in a different age--one in which the combination of faster time and more cluttered but longer lasting lives necessitates a few workarounds for the time-consuming business that hounds us. Because of this shoe horn I'm no longer held hostage by the loose-fitting, shabby loafters I usually require to get along with my day. In fact, I'm now able--after several years of torpidity--to slip into my ankle-high Donald J. Pliner boots as efficiently and quickly as those loafers (which I've just discarded). The shoe horn itself is made of wood--not unbreakable but sufficiently pliant to serve its purpose long enough to justify the expense. And frankly it didn't cost much--practically a third the price of some similar items that, unlike this one, don't ship postage-free. If you can wait the extra couple of days (since I don't think this one is available with Prime), I'd say go with the loafers until this one arrives. In the meantime, await your Rosewood instrument's arrival with the expectation of Browning's Victorian over-reacher, and when it comes (which in all likelilhood it will), be prepared for the now-heightened pleasure of indulging yourself in a small taste of heaven.

Does the job, but take it easy
I do like the feel and length of the shoe horn and it works fine, but I find myself taking extra care (and I'm usually in a hurry in the am) when using it so as not to break it as some others have mentioned. Probably would have purchased a metal or plastic version if I had it all to do again.

100000x better than plastic or metal, better price too, buy it!
Amazing shoe horn. Extremely solid and sturdy, smooth finish easily slips your foot into the shoe. And for this low price? Almost unbelievable. Metal and plastic ones are more expensive, sometimes 2-3x more, and will most definitely break or bend, this is made from solid wood and you would have to try very very hard to break it. 100% love and recommend it. The only downside is it took a while to get delivered, but it was definitely worth the wait and this one shoe horn will likely last my whole life.

This shoe horn is the best in terms of comfort in putting the shoe on
This shoe horn is the best in terms of comfort in putting the shoe on. I have used several different types now, including several different types of metal ones brass, steel etc, and plastic. This wooden one is the most effective and has ZERO pain on removal. It also seems sturdy and has lasted me for a year. So who cares if it eventually breaks, I can get a new one, and will have used an excellent product. Also its wood, so its renewal, much better than a plastic one.
