Really reduces pulling on the leash
We have a seven-month old German Shepherd, and we've tried the slip collar, but it's not nearly as effective as the prong collar. She has such thick hair around her neck, and she's so strong. This collar really helps with training on her walks. It's well made, sturdy, and easy to remove or add the links. My husband can easily pinch it to put it on and off the dog. My hands are much smaller, so I have to be really deliberate in squeezing the link to attach or remove it; that's why I put 4 instead of 5 stars for easy to remove. However, that's about me and my hand strength and arthritis. Just something to consider if you have that physical challenge. The product needs to be that strong to do the job and not hurt the dog.

Great for the dog
Works perfectly. It’s easy to get on and off. A great value for the price it was. I purchased one that’s a little too big, so I took a few links out of it. I’ll be able to use them when he gets a little bigger.

WARNING: People seem to not research how to use it before buying. It's a good product.
Firstly, do not slip this over the dog's head! You could hurt the dog and won't get a correct fit. To properly put it on you pinch one of the links until it slides off of another one. Basically like tabs, you position it snugly right at the base of the school ensuring it won't slide around. It is supposed to go right under the base of the ears and along the dog's skull to the bottom of their jaw essentially. A lose prong collar can cause serious injuries. Now when properly used it is amazing at least from what I've seen. The only issues with it were some of the tabs were difficult to pinch to release a link. Making it hard to take off the dog. But most of the links were fairly easy so not a huge deal. The other personal problem is my 65 pound Australian shepherd with a 16" neck seems like he is in-between sizes. 3.0 gauge almost seems too much but Idk the manufacturer says that's perfect. He also has super thick fur making it hard to take off and put on sometimes. After tons of training he is an amazing dog and incredibly intelligent. His only downfall is his herding and controlling instinct. He feels the need to control anything moving and otherwise he only ever thinks about food. He would be 100 pounds off of just his regular dog food if he had his way. All that to say the only real solution that instantly stopped the bad behavior and let him focus on me, was this prong collar. I plan to use it more often as he needs it again, just for training his heel and so I can trust him. The easy lead or whatever it is called works, but is so easily broken and still doesn't have the same instant results this does. Not to mention my dog hated that product so much. He tolerates the prong collar at first and then acts like it's not even there a couple minutes later. Again I do feel like it is slightly too loose, but the results are still better than anything I could've hoped for. Just remember to learn how to properly use this TOOL safely and effectively. Also remember to use it to train your dog. It is an invaluable tool for teaching a dog that it is okay to trust and follow your lead. The very slight discomfort during this training is such a relief compared to the windpipe crushing leash pulling and constant stress levels he used to endure. Just try and make sure you get a real version and not a counterfeit.

Didn’t expect it to work as well as it did.
Bought this product based off of American Standard Dog Training videos. Within 2 days of walking my Husky she is starting to keep her eyes on me and stay with me on walks. 10/10 would recommend. Perfect training tool. My husky is 5 years old and is a typical very stubborn husky that constantly pushes the limits of getting away with things… or trying to. This works very well. Quality Review: Links feel very solid, not cheap flimsy as I expected. Also is a little tough to take off, kids who love to destroy things will have a very hard time taking it off and losing links.

Noticeably Reduced Pulling!
This Prong Collar is a bit tricky to put on over the puppy's head, so be sure the puppy/dog is calm when putting it over his/her head. I wanted my puppy to cooperate with the putting on and taking off ritual, so I have used a protocol from the very first wearing. When I'm putting the collar over her head, she must stand still or sit still. Then, I put three different-tasting treats in my hand, so that she knows she's getting three treats and not just one big treat. As I'm sliding this collar over her head with one hand, she's eating the three treats from my other hand. This ritual has the added benefit of her loving to put on her Prong Collar, instead of it being a fight and risking an eye poke. "Oh, I hear Mommy futzing with my Prong Collar...we must be getting ready for a walk. Here I am, Mommy!" Later, she gets an additional treat when I remove the collar, which is easier than putting it on. This collar has reduced the pulling for most situations. Depending upon your own pup's temperament, it might not be 100% effective during high-excitement challenges, such as when a squirrel, stray cat, or rabbit runs by. If my puppy stays within the range of the leash we're using, she doesn't feel the prongs. The prongs just sit on top of her coat. If she activates the prongs by trying to run ahead of me, she can easily deactivate them herself as soon as she wants to by slowing her pace and shaking her body, as if she were shaking water from her coat. In that way, she can control the intensity and duration of any "pronging" sensations. We had tried a choker collar and several "no-pull" harnesses, before ordering this. None of them worked as well as the Prong Collar. I'm hoping that this Prong Collar is durable enough to get through the training process of not pulling!

Le collier est de bonne manufacture. Je l'utilise depuis quelques temps et il n'a pas rouillé. Il est facilement réglable et facile d'utilisation. Je regrette simplement que les picots ne soit pas plus épais. J'en suis satisfaite.
