Defrost very quick

Everything seems to defrost the same as if we set the meat on a plate. This is what everyone we asked about them said but we still tried it. We wouldn’t buy it again.

I often found myself eating out or getting fast food for convenience sake because I don't have the patience to defrost meats from my freezer. I finally decided to get a defrosting tray to help me "adult" and save me from eating out. I bought this tray based on good reviews, decent price, and it matched the color scheme of my kitchen. Since I haven't defrosted meat in a hot minute, I decided to try to defrost 1.25lbs of freezerburned hamburger meat (don't judge). Slapped that frozen thick boy on the defrosting tray after running the tray under warm water like recommended, which conducts heat faster, and waited.. It took about an hour and a half before the meat was thawed enough to be cooked so I was thoroughly impressed considering it would have taken 5 times as longer on the counter top alone or in the fridge to dethaw. I would say it's worth the buy.Also, as a fun tip about defrosting trays.. They're made of aluminum which is a good conductor for heat which is how foods may dethaw faster using one (and in a safer manner than using a microwave). Running the tray under warm water first helps to jumpstart the dethawing process. The rubber edging on the tray has little legs to lift the tray off of the countertop which allows air to circulate underneath it to promote conduction. I wasn't sure how defrosting trays worked and this is the information I found. I hope this helps in saving you the time of googling it yourself.

My only complaint is that the rubber gasket surrounding the tray (which I thought was a great feature) doesn't prevent liquid from leaking from the thawing tray. I thawed out a chicken breast - and some of the juice/liquid that formed on the thawing plate leaked through the rubber gasket and onto the counter.Otherwise it works great.

I wasn't sure what to think about this. I had hopes, but as usual, this is the kind of thing you often see inflated or incentivized reviews for, and you don't trust the ratings...But I picked this up for the random chicken or beef I need to thaw for dinner, and it really does make it go quicker. Any claims of fractions of the time are exaggerated, but I certainly see things thawing at least twice as quick as usual.I wish it was a bit larger, but it'll do. It does help that when I freeze ground beef, I use my food saver sealer, and I squish the bags after I've vacuum sealed them so they're flat and consistent. You really want a flat surface to touch this so that it can conduct the most heat transfer.

I have only used once, so will need upgrade down road. Was referred by friend to try, gave high praise on this, and claimed it only takes hr or so to thaw. This person also bought for many of their friends. That had me to purchase and try. Place unwrapped meat on tray but walked away from it. So I really didn’t get an accurate time on thawing. Plus I couldn’t put 2 single pieces of meat on tray because I had 2 meats frozen together. This product review will need updating. Can say it is sturdy, easy to use and easy cleaning.

So I’m not one to write reviews however, this one deserves one 100/ 5stars!1) It thaws frozen meat perfectly in less that 2 hrs.2) dishwasher safeMy in-laws were visiting and I forgot to take out steak the night before out of the freezer. And I DO NOT thaw in the microwave! Well we didn’t have steak that night as planned. My mother in law asked if I had a defrosting board. I was puzzled. She told me I should get one and I told her yea ok and bruShed it off. Well 3 months later here we are. I ordered this right before the quarantine. I stocked My freezer with meat like I do ever eat months. Anywho, I took out 2 beautiful beef Filets frozen solid , placed them on the thawing board at4:30 and at 6 they were on the grill. They were perfectly thawed!!! I also did this for a 3 lb Ziplock bag of ground beef. Boom! Thawed out in about an hour. Just in time for Taco Tuesday. I’m a total believer and have recommended this product to all my friends and family. This is a must have in everyone’s kitchen! SERIOUSLY JUST BUY THE DAMN BOARD ALREADY !

It definitely works better than anything else, but I saw people saying this thing can defrost a frozen chicken leg in 15-20 minutes. At least in my experience, that is about half to a third as long before I felt comfortable throwing it in the pan. Easy to use and clean, better than alternatives. I’d say it’s worth the price if you’ll use it.

It took hours just to barely start thawing out the chicken we put on this. Not worth the money.

This tray didn’t substantially speed up defrosting any meat. Tried it several times as did my family members. We’ve all stopped using this. I don’t think it was worth what we paid for it.

Tried it multiple times, just doesn’t work. I don’t know if these trays are even supposed to work at all. Unfortunately didn’t try to enough before I could return but would not recommend.
