I have the fireplace from hell. It was made 20 years ago and is clearly at the end of its life-cycle. This pilot assembly is a direct replacement for the original, and after installation, it worked perfectly except for the spark post. I needed to also purchase a new piezo igniter as the separation between the spark post and the pilot light was greater than on the original. Now it works fine.Before you purchase this, make sure you have the talent and inclination to install it, or have hired someone to do it for you. I bought this in preparation for a visit from our local fireplace service man who was on his fourth visit to our house to get the dame fireplace to work. I decided to buy this under the impression it was the weak link in our system, and he installed it. But it took him 40 minutes of hard work to do it, and he admitted this is not a trivial installation. So be warned.Now the fireplace works well and should work for another ten years, I hope.

have to watch direction of pilot flame had to modify to install in the correct orientation. needs two notches at 180 degrees on the pilot head to be prefect

Bought this as spare for a 20 year old Superior fireplace. Appears to be a chore to install.

According to the repair person, the screw piece was slightly stripped so had to be reworked

Fireplace is like new again. Which I had done this 2 years ago.

This unit matched exactly for a different brand fire log burner. Works great!
