Great gift for a child's room
Very nice overall, very bright could double as a night lamp for a kid who is still uneasy about dark rooms. 3d texture is nice, but very subtle (in fairness anything you can feel with your finger is exaggerated at that scale!). Some place names use unconventional spelling's for USA buyers. Maybe just different transliterations via Chinese...The power is supplied through a cord with an inline switch to a micro-usb plug into the base of the globe. This allows it to spin freely while lit, but I am not sure why they used a USB port for power instead of a sturdier barrel plug. The globe and base are sturdy though.

Larger than expected - perfect for what we needed!
I purchased this globe because I wanted one with a relief map. I didn't care about any accompanying apps, but I wanted one that was easy to use and pretty. I love that this one lights up and shows the major currents. The unlighted globe is still very pretty (and sometimes cordless is just what you need!)The latitude and longitude and marked clearly, and the countries, rivers, and oceans, etc. are clearly labeled as well. The relief is cool but it's hard to see with the naked eye, so that was the one thing I was a little disappointed about (I have seen other maps on which it's very easy to tell where the mountain ranges are.) But it's very easy to feel, and my children love this feature more than I even hoped they would. I can't quite figure out the colors and patterns of the map. I am assuming the colors are related to the terrain. The base is sturdy and heavy enough so I don't have to worry about it toppling over. And it is bigger than I expected it to be!This map is perfect for our needs. I know it will be very helpful in our geography and history studies. It is super affordable too, which is the nice thing!

Beautiful but not as accurate or complete as I would wish
I gave the globe only 3 stars for accuracy, for several reasons:• Istanbul, which is a very important city, a gateway between the european and arab world, is not on the globe;• The Asian area is very China-centric, with many of the areas labelled as chinese still very controvertial. The globe is printed in China, so perhaps it is not so much inaccurate, as politically disputed;• It says: Great Wall (China) near the South pole. ????

Good product; silly instructions
It was a Christmas gift for my teenager. She was thrilled with it, and I'm happy that it has worked as advertised. My teenager has put it in her bedroom and likes it as a nightlight to read by. She is very happy with its appearance/the light. One time it wouldn't light up, but we played with the plugs a bit and it seemed to work again. Not sure if it got disconnected somehow? A bit concerned as we have had it only a short while, but hopefully it holds out.She did find the safety instructions rather ridiculous, and wanted to include those here for your amusement.

At first I wasn’t sure, but worked out great!!!
When I received my first globe I had something strange happen immediately afterwards where it just stopped working as far as the light is concerned. Amazon made it so seamless to get a new one within about 36 hours and it works perfectly, very satisfied!!! Some of the writing and lines on the map could be more clear but overall very happy.

Great globe
Our son really wanted a globe for Christmas. This one is so fun with the lightup feature. Only drawback with that is it is too bright to use as a nightlight. So we just turn it off as we leave the room. We're all really enjoying it.

For the price, globe was a fair buy, with LED & magnifier, though its data seems to be pro-China.
I am generally satisfied with the globe as a basic teaching tool, and I was mildly fascinated by the perks thrown in, like the magnifier, the freebie card, and the LED lamp feature. For accuracy, there are a few typographical errors, like "elepant island" down south (Elephant Island?) and I think the Sahara desert and Saudi Arabia should be colored mostly tan/ sandlike--though I can live with these patches of green. My only reservation is the controversial South China Sea territory where the lines and island names claimed by China are certainly disputed by Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei. As a suggestion to the manufacturer (if this is at all possible, given government mandates in your country), I would suggest you keep such spaces neutral and unlabeled, if you'd like to sell your globe to a wider, more intellectual, cosmopolitan, and informed segment of buyers.

Just what I wanted
We wanted a globe which we could see the world and where exactly everything is. Not only can we see everything but we can plug it in so it lights up and we can see everything even in the dark. We really are enjoying it and I would recommend it for any family the\at wants a better understanding of where in the world all the different countries are.
