Nice black watercolor.

Someone asked if they could paint poinsettias with this color. I have uploaded a little example. You can judge for yourself. The reason I give Marie's colors a 4/5 is because they are consistent. For the price, it's a good value. However the tubes tend to dry out over time and paintings fade a bit as well.

I ordered a beginner set from an Asian art supply company but they left out this brown. This was much cheaper per tube so I am able to happily share with my classmates.

Was expecting a very bad quality item. For the price it seemed to good to be true. But it was. Its amazing. I feel that it's a steal. 5 tubes for that price. Also the paint is a little bit more viscous than usual but I like it like that.

It seems different that other black watercolors than I'm used to. Seems to soak into paper a lot faster, which might be a problem if you're wanting to saturate and re-work it. Otherwise, works well enough for what I was wanting.

I have been using a lot of black since I am doing chiaroscuro painting. So my background is black and completely dry before I start painting people. But I started noticing that the skin of my people was dirty even before I start painting them. So I looked at the heel of my hand and sure enough it was dirty from resting on the black areas while painting my people. This never happened with paints other than Marie's before. Not when the paint is completely dry!

We use these colors frequently, thereby emptying containers frequently. Nice to have extras on hand.
