Natural Dishwashing Sponge Kitchen scrub scourer (Pack of 3)

As we all become more aware of the environmental impact of plastic, I've been looking for products to replace household essentials I've been unknowingly and unthinkingly using for years. These are perfect to replace plastic dishwashing sponges as they're natural and ultimately biodegradable. They do a better job of cleaning stuck on food on plates and pans than the plastic variety and see to last a while too. As with almost all green products though, they're a long way from matching the low cost of plastic products - but I think the higher price is for the most part affordable and worth it considering they last a few months before needing replacement, especially considering the even higher cost of some other brands for green replacements. Highly recommended.

These little scrubbing pads are amazing. They arrive really quickly and are flat but pop them into water for a couple of minutes and they puff up. Very durable and flexible so you can get into those corners on baking trays, much better than foam scrubbers as they take of the cooked on food and grease with out scratching or damaging the non stick surface. Brilliant for pans, pie dishes, cleaning ovens and porcelain sinks. Very versatile, clean up easily if you wash through with either hot soapy warm water or soak in diluted bleach. And to top it all, biodegradable so no waste. One scrubber lasts me at least a month in a busy family kitchen.

This is the third kind of eco-friendly washing up sponge/scourer I have tried, and it's the best one so far. The roughness provides fairly good abrasion to remove food debris, but as the scrub gets wet, it puffs up so you get a good lather from washing up liquid and it is soft enough to bend into awkward corners of pans/oven trays. Not as good the normal plastic sponge/scourers, but good enough. I will probably continue to buy these without worrying about plastic particles going down the sink. It was also great that these were delivered in a simple DL paper envelope. No excessive plastic packaging.

It's a nice wee sponge and does the trick with the dishes and dries off well. But after a week of use the sponge started to detangle so now it's got bits hanging off and if you'd need to put in a new one every week... well, that'd get a tiny bit expensive. I'm mostly happy though. It's much better than a regular soft sponge and doesn't make that annoying squeeky sound which I just cant stand.

I loved the minimal packaging and eco friendly ethos of this product but have to say I'm disappointed as the first pad lasted only a few days before falling apart. For the price I would expect it to last longer but this may be a one off so going to see how the next one lasts. Otherwise they do the job of the plastic scourers and have a handy hanging string that fits our tap perfectly.

I cannot begin to say how much I love these. They scrub well, don't scratch, and incredibly, never seem to get stinky like normal sponges! I have had mine for ages and they are lasting amazingly well. I have to pitch all my other sponges after a few weeks at most because they get smelly. These hang dry on their lovely little loops and are odour-free! I love that they are not plastic, and come delivered in a paper envelope.

Love these! They arrive in a paper envelope looking like bits of flattened toast - and then you get them wet and they puff up like a shredded wheat. And they work! Every bit as well as the sponge scourer pads but without the plastic - and without that rather evil whiff you get after a few days’ use. What’s more, you can wash them in with your laundry. They come out as good as new (well, so far anyway). Husband is also, after initial misgivings, converted. Will be sticking with these from now on. Excellent!

I really wanted to like theses! But I cant afford to buy these every three weeks because they fall apart after 1 week of using them! also they are not able to deal with anything that is stuck on, even crumbs on a plate.. I have had to go back too using the plastic sponges that we still have left as i have already used all three of these faster than i imagined and have to find something tougher that can handle anything that is remotely stuck. I really love the ethics behind these though just please make them more durable!
