Quality Fan A+
After having gone to Lowes the first time to replace a bathroom fan at a reasonable price, and gotten a booming noise maker, I had almost given up. Nearly every fan at Lowes is garbage, either does not last or is very loud. I never thought about checking for fans on Amazon. I'm glad I did. Installation was pretty easy. The connections on this unit may likely be different from what you have, so assume you are replacing the entire unit including the housing (which was not always the case on older fans years ago which would just fit into the existing casing, and with one plug-in you were done). But even with having to rip out the old casing, once you get this one started you can follow it without needing to look at the directions more than once or twice. In operation this fan is very nice. It's not the quietest out there but you can tell the bearings are well done and there is no vibration nor real noise. There is also a small green led that comes on when the fan is in operation. That is very helpful as a night lite whenever there is unexpected business in the wee hours. Overall, this is a MUCH better purchase than you can get for the money in any home improvement store I know of (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) Great purchase.

This fan is the one you want...
This fan is quiet, efficient, and easy to install. My old fan was as loud as a vacuum cleaner. This new fan is so quiet it has a small, green light on the front to tell you it's on. And even though it's many times quieter than my old fan, it moves more air and is Energy Star rated. I thank the designers of this fan since they obviously thought of the need for flexibility when installing bathroom fans. The fan blades and motor can be easily removed so that one can install the empty housing while being able to get at any fasteners and or electrical connections on the interior of the housing . That saved my life, since I had to install the new fan and housing in an existing hole in the wall and I didn't have to do any drywall construction/destruction to get the unit installed. Plus the smaller-than-most size of the unit allowed me to set it into the shallow wall space. Lastly, the vent duct connection slides out of the housing allowing the installer to connect it to the duct and then easily slide the housing in. All in all, for replacing an old bathroom vent fan with a 3" vent pipe and 4" wall depth this is the one you want.

A solid, small fan, low noise and 3-inch outlet
We installed this Delta BreezeSlin 50CM fan in our small powder room. It has a 3-inch vent for those who have the same size duct. Their claim on 1 Sone is pretty accurate, we have a .3 Sone Panasonic in the master bath and it is comparably much more quiet. The fan is a breeze to install, pun intended. :) We needed the 3-inch vent after checking our ducting for the powder room, while our master bath has a 4-inch duct. The fan operates well, it's audible but very quiet compared to our previous bath fans. I know some people don't care for it but I like the green LED light that comes on when in operation inside the casing. So far, I'm very satisfied with this fan for our little powder room. We saw a Delta Breeze 80CFM .3 Sone model on display at a home improvement center and liked it but our contractor recommended a Panasonic so we got one of each to check them out. They are both good performing fans.

Nice well-made fan
We got tired of our $13, 4+ sone screaming fan in the guest bath and decided to replace it with this 50cfm Delta slim model. The week before I replaced the other bath fan with a Nutone QTN80E from a local home supply store. That was fine but I had to add some framing to support it because it is designed for 2 x 6 ceiling joists and we have 2 x 4 trusses. This Delta slim model promised to solve that problem and it did. Works fine, very quiet, and the grill is quite a bit bigger than the fan body, so it covers up less than perfect trimming of the ceiling hole. The only weird thing is that the manual (available on the Delta website) says to install the outflow duct at -1 degree incline (lower than the fan body), which would require a soffit vent some 15 feet away. I opted for a wall vent just 3 ft from the fan body, with a step up to 4" ducting. Seems fine even though the outlet is slightly higher than the fan body. Overall, very solid fan, highly recommended for retro fit.

Good but should do research on CFM and Sones before buying
I know nothing about carpentry/electrical house repairs. I bought this on a whim because I wanted a quieter master bath fan. It was tough crawling in the crawl space to mount this but the electrical plugging was easier than I thought. This is very quiet and the noise slowly builds up to just the hum of air swishing. My bathroom is small but I like hot showers while my girlfriend likes scolding hot showers. Even though my bathroom would ideally need to accommodate 50CFM(Cubic feet per minute) this fan is more ideal for sucking up the stink in a half bath with no shower. If I educated myself a bit more before buying I would have sought a 80+ CFM plus heat lamp to solve my shower steam issue. The 1 Sone is so quiet that I could easily tolerate 2 sones and help cover up the noises I make on the toilet a bit. But as advertised for its price this is a very good product.

Quiet and allows wall mounting
This was one of the quietest fans that we were able to find that also allowed wall mounting. It is a great price compared to other low noise fans. It is on the small side, as far as air flow, but is perfect for our 5'x7' master bathroom. It is not completely quiet, but is barely noticeable outside of the bathroom itself. If you have an existing fan that is installed properly, it is easy to install. This was my first time installing a bathroom fan. I did have to correct the ventilation to the outside, and cut a new hole in my roof, as the previous owners vented the fan into the attic. Once that was corrected, I was able to complete the actual fan installation from within the bathroom, without cutting any more drywall than the hole for the fan to fill, in only a couple hours.
