Very late and expensive but a very good barrel
This barrel was a month and a half late getting to me, but overall the barrel is very good, thick, sturdy construction. I am pleased with the barrel and the tight fitting lid and latch assembly. There is no question that this barrel will last for many years in any weather conditions.

Very solid, thick wall and sealable lid
I was skeptical when I ordered this barrel but it's very heavy duty with a nice strong sealable lid. Great for bulk water storage and I also use a water preservative for 55 gallons of water. You will want to elevate it bit if you plan on connecting a hose to the valve as it is very close to the ground.

Spigot on bottom of barrel is worthless
While I like the barrel and snug fitting lid, the spigot on the bottom is very cheap plastic and prone to leaking. I have two of these barrels and both spigots have had problems. I would recommend replacing the spigots with better quality ones before putting it into use.I did drill a hole into the lid and put in a spigot to act as a vent.

Will need a vent in the top
We needed a water storage container since the well doesn’t pump when the power goes out and this barrel fits the bill. It’s new — not a repurposed barrel — so it smells clean. One thing to be aware of is that it will not flow without a vent in the top. I filled it with water and once I opened the spigot it sucked the top down so hard I could not get it off or get the water to run through the spigot without drilling a hole in the top. So a hole saw and trip to Home Depot for some PVC parts and now it’s all set. Now it flows really well with a little venting.
