A powerful laptop!! - comprehensive review
Read patiently if you are looking to buy a new laptop.first ill break the laptop with its pros and cons, and then compare with its rivals.PROS:++BUILT QUALITY : top notch built, it is made out of aluminium and feels sturdy enough. no flex at all in the body, but the screen slightly flexes which is normal. The edges are sharp but not much to worry about. It is a very slim laptop with properly balanced weight . Weight is around 1.9 kgs , so not a ultrabook. looks very much premium due to its brushed metal finish.++DISPLAY: It has very BRIGHT AND VIBRANT display. Contrast is fairly good. Viewing angles are also nice. Overall a good screen for multimedia and gaming.++PERFORMANCE: Performance is good, its quick in booting up and launching programs thanks to the optane. The read and write speeds are very good , around 125Mbps on transferring content from usb 3.1. I have not done any benchmarks but till now fast enough , as you can expect from any i5 8th gen.++ BATTERY: battery life is outstanding , i get around 7-8 hours with mixed usage, i.e playing few games , using chrome , watching videos at 1080p, and windows 10 installation in the background with continuos wifi on and at 30% brightness level. so it will surely last 9 hours with low usage and 5-6 on heavy use.++AUDIO: It came as a pleasant surprise to me , the sound quality is awesome, it makes a huge diff in multimedia consumption , you dont even need a external speakers with this, it is loud , sound quality is amazing for a laptop.although the sound via headphone jack was not that good, but i guess some tweaking with equilizer should solve this. not a deal breaker.++KEYBOARD: typing experience was very good on this laptop, key travel is good neither too shallow nor deep , just perfect. Add to that a backlit keyboard. and no flex on the chassis . overall best ive ever used.CONS:++HEATING ISSUE: When you use this laptop while charging it heats up like anything , somewhere around 65degrees avg without even using any application . And thanks to its metal body , the heat issue is prominent and you feel it on your laps , so much that you have to put it on a table .But this is not the Acer problem or you have any defective product. it is the Intel turbo boost which kicks in when you plug into a charger, on battery CPU runs at 1.6ghz with around 42 degrees normal tempt. but with turbo boost it overclocks and runs at 3.3ghz and heats up the device. But hey I have a SOLUTION to this , windows 10 doesnt give any option to disable turbo boost, so i downloaded a software called as Throttlestop , you can click disable turbo boost on the software while charging and it runs at normal 1.6ghz with 43 degrees. SO PROBLEM SOLVED. Most games run fine at 1.6ghz , you wont need any turbo boosting anyways. Incase you need that extra juice dont use throttle stop.--trackpad: it used to stuck at time because of the outdated driver, download driver from acer site, no issues now.--Out of the box experience: which isnt good. okay so once you get laptop , you will be updating windows 10 which is a 4 hours long process , add to it the heating issue and lots of norton bloatware, you will be cursing Acer or even return the product. So Just delete the unnecessary apps , update windows and use throttlestop for the heating issue .And all your problems are solved.Comparison:there are many products ,like lenovo ideapad 330 which has same specs without intel optane and cost 7k less but you will have to compromise on build quality, battery backup ( on lenovo it is 3-4 hours avg) , lower boot and write speeds.2nd option : Hp 15q , same problems like the ideapad . one more i would like to add it that these laptops dont have built in SSD , you can add a 120gb one at 1.8k. but Acer gives intel optane which makes it worth buying as you get ssd like performance for a 1 tb hdd .My suggestion : buy this laptop at 52k if you want a nvidia graphics card or the sf314-54 with 520gb SSD version, that will last 12 hours on battery. And if you want a good office laptop for 44k then buy acer swift 3 sf314-52, core i3 8th gen variant.plus points of buying acer - they give 3 year extended warranty at 1100 rs only.Ill update the review after 30 days . any doubts could be asked in the section below, ill try to answer all.Thank you for reading.UPDATE AFTER 1 MONTH:Laptop is holding very good. heating issues have been resolved. liking it a lot. Many of my friends were impressed by the sturdy metal body and looks. performance is same as earlier. No more issues!!

Great Machine, Feature packed not so good after sales experience
The machine itself is great but guys here is something you should do just after purchasing the device:1.check all the components of the laptop after receiving it like the ports, hard disk etc whether they are all working fine or not because I noticed that my hard disk was making clicking noise so I went to the service centre the very next day I received the machine and they replaced it.2. If any such thing happens to you firstly if it happens within replacement period don't let the service centre people replace the hard disk straight away as it will void the warranty and the Amazon will not replace the device. First contact amazon and follow their lead. Secondly if this happens after the replacement period lock your complaint to Acer and visit service centre and let them check if they happen to replace the hard-disk ask them to make a recovery of windows amd and then replace the hard-disk. After replacement please check whether your optane memory is working or not and ask them to activate the ms office 16.I had to run to the service centre 4 times within 7 days. First they were not able to install optane memory then they tried to install windows in the intel ssd then they talked to seniors after that the issue was resolved later they were not able to activate my ms office.Right now I am again facing hard disk issue alongwith issue in trackpad this may be because of windows update. Now about performance: this machine is a beast .Gives me around 8 hrs battery lifeFingerprint scanner works great as wellPlayed only prototype 2 so not really checked the mx150 but with the above it worked great though i felt some warmth under the fanSpeakers are loud enough for a single roomDisplay is just amazingKeypad is great as wellHinge is 180° degree rotatableEverything else is greatOverall the device is fantastic only the hard-disk made the experience a little dullBy the way I purchased it from klick technologyI hope its helpful. The display is antiglare its reflecting the flash in pic because screen guard is applied to it.Update: Got 2nd hard disk replaced this month, so its 2 hard disks in 2 months.

A very great laptop at this price.
Overall this laptop is too good but there are some PROS & CONS.PROS :-1. Metallic body2. Battery Life is great, upto 7 hrs on normal use.3. Because of optane memory it's very fast for now4. Touchpad is wide enough.5. Backlit Keyboard is very helpful during night.6. Antiglare screen is great.7. Fingerprint sensor is pretty fast.CONS :-1. Heavy due to metallic body.2. Heats up a lot.3. Charger also gets very hot while charging.4. Out of 3 USB ports, 1 usb port is only for Pen Drives and external Hard Disks, You can't access your smartphone through that port. But thats not an issue.Overall this laptop is a beast, and will prefer this laptop to everyone.I have purchased this laptop from e9accessories, so go for this seller if possible.

Read before you buy this.
It's overall good laptop (you can see the all spec. in site)but this you must consider before you buy.1. It's not support SATA-3 interface SSD(I waste my time on it). But you can add m.2 nvme(which is faster and expensive than traditional sata ssds) ssd by removing optane memory.2. If you want to use linux, there's no driver for fingerprint scanner in linix3. Battery back up is upto 6-7 on web and applications like Intellij idea,webstrom.4.Sound is Ok but not loud.5. Display is Also Good in colors but not that much brighter.(it's may little bit difficult to use in outdoors)6. Heating when gaming at the top of keyboard which is normal.7. Built quality is good.
