Frigidaire FFGC3612TS 36" Gas Cooktop Stainless Steel

As being one of the cheapest brand name 5 burner cooktops on Amazon I was skeptical about the quality and after installing it I'm very happy with its performance, however the installation did have a few hiccups.Since I was purchasing this a replacement for an existing unit I needed to ensure that it fit in the opening in the granite counter top. I checked the opening and the new cooktop specifications and it fit. When I opened the box and put it in the hole in the counter top it did not fit, not because the opening was too small but because the flange on this unit was wider than the old one on the backside and it hit the back splash. No fault of the new unit just something to consider when using this as a replacement unit. In the end I had to cut a 1/2" off of the front edge of the granite.My real issue with the installation is the lock down clips. They are located on the sides, now doing the math a 36" cooktop usually goes in a 36" base cabinet which has an internal width of about 34 1/2". Given that width there is no way that the mounting clips can go on the sides there just isn't any room. They should be designed to go on the front and back edges of the unit.Overall I'm very satisfied with the unit, it's very easy to clean. One other notable item is that the metal grates when new are very slick and a pan can easily slide right off if nudged.

I recently moved into a home built in 1976 that needs some serious updating. One item that had to go was the 1980s era cooktop that looked a mess and seemed to only offer two settings for the flame: high or off. But after pricing cooktops I thought I would have to put that purchase off. Then I saw this, for about half the price of 36”, 5 burner cooktops I had been looking at. It didn’t look fancy, but I figured it would at least be functional, so I ordered it. When it arrived, my thoughts were confirmed. Nothing upscale about how it looks. Yes, it is stainless steel, but I would have preferred white. The knobs are plain black plastic. And the grates are not rugged, manly cast iron like the fancier cooktops but welded steel rods that look kind of dorky. So, not real impressive, but in a kitchen that screams mid-70s design... I can live with that. But when it comes to functionality, this cooktop comes through beautifully. Those dorky looking grates are actually quite strong and cover the entire cooktop so you can slide pots around to the various burners easily. The burners work well, light every time and are very adjustable. I like that there’s a high heat burner and one just for simmering. It works great! And really, the cheapest cooktop I found with the cool burner grates was about $300 more than this. For that money I can live with dorky. As a matter of fact I now find the dorkiness endearing because it works so well. Kind of like that song from Chorus Line about Dance 10, Looks 3. Except no surgery required.

Wow what a nice replacement cooktop. After a dozen years or so the old control had enough. After shopping around this one for the bill for price, size, and features we needed. Quick delivery and a trip to home depot for a size reduction valve and had it in on a couple of hours. Very easy to clean and maintain. I've seen comments that the burner grate is slick and pots side around, this has not been an issue even when moving 3 or 4 around while cooking. Highly recommended.

We love our new cooktop. A neighbor paid four times what we did through Amazon and it was here in 2 days! We are die hard Amazon Shoppers from now on! Bless you, this is the first class customer service we used to have years ago and we are ever so grateful that you have made a major setback so simple took the stress out of this situation.

I love my new stove top, it look clean and elegant. It was very easy to install. The only bad thing is that it took almost 3 weeks to arrive.

Performs beautifully. Different sizes of burners offer ideal match for every size pot and pan. It is convenient to have the larger burners up front since they are the ones I use more often. Having the smaller burners in the back enables me to keep the initial items I have prepared warm while using the front to prepare another item. If the burners were reversed, I would have to either reach over the items keeping warm on small front burners in order to use the large ones at the rear, or be resigned to only having the use of a smaller burner while keeping items warm in the rear. So, for me, the burner arrangement is ideal.
