I purchased three of these for my grandsons, ages 9, 5, and 2. I assumed that the oldest one could do it independently (was true-- it was easy for him to put it together without help), the middle one would need some help (also true), and that the youngest could play with it after we made it for him. Much to my surprise, the 2 year old carefully painted his wooden car parts (without help, after setting him up with paint and brushes). He had a wonderful time working with his big brothers and the painting project took him quite a while. (I did then put it together for him.)All of us had a wonderful time assembling the cars, although the 9 year old commented about how it would have been easier if the proper size screwdriver had been included in the kit. He correctly pointed out that it wouldn't cost more than a dollar or so, and it would be a big help to the purchaser. It took us quite some time to find the exact size we needed, and this is in a house where small tools of all types and sizes are used daily. Using something a little too big or small just didn't do the job properly.The instructions were easy to follow and didn't require any reading. They were too complicated for the 5 year old to interpret, but the 9 year old did great. Extra small parts were included with the kit, too, so losing a screw or nail was nothing to fret about. A little more paint would have been nice, since the two older boys ran out of paint before they painted everything they wanted to, but it cleaned up easily, and you really wouldn't have had to paint anything if you didn't want to. The plastic "overlay" that makes the body of the car made it look great, even without using paint.So far these cars have withstood several days of hard play, including lots of crashes. In summary, I was very impressed with the quality, especially for the reasonable price, and I'm looking forward to buying more from this company for future visits with my grandsons.

Bought this for my grandson to have a project to put together. Unfortunately a piece is missing that is vital to do this!

Don’t let the flimsy appearance of this truck disappoint you. My grandson and husband both had to work together to get it built. But since then it has been thrown around, flipped over, etc and has proved to be extremely durable and fun. Definitely would make a good gift.

I bought this kit and sent it to my five-year-old grandson. He was delighted with it and he and his Mom loved putting it together. The pieces were big enough for him to handle and they had no problems assembling the item. I'm happy and they're happy. I would definitely purchase another kit from this seller.

I initially bought a variety of Stanley Jr. products for a donation gift basket. Stanley offers such a variety of well-made items for the 5+ kiddos, including real tools, a huge selection of building kits, flashlights, measuring tapes, and even a toolbox. When my 4-year-old grandson saw the basket, he wanted to dive right in. Needless to say, I purchasing the tool belt set and 4 different building kits for Christmas. I'm eager to see him open his gifts.

I have already responded, however I will use this opportunity to re-state my review. I bought this for my grandson - who was very excited to receive it. While building the car - several of the wood pieces cracked or broke - and he was not able to complete the project. I feel I should be compensated for my purchase based on this outcome. Great COVID activity to keep little ones busy. Definitely needed dad's help building it.

This was a gift that we just gave to our 6 yr old grandson yesterday. Bumpa and him put it together and will paint and finish it next week. He loves it! Only complaint was that they thought it would have helped to have words with the instructions! It took a few tries to figure things out, and he would not have been able to do it alone.
