Healthy Recipes that (for the most part) Taste Good
I have been trying to cook healthier meals. It's my hope that I can control my diabetes with dietary changes and not have to take yet another medication. The authors have really worked hard to create flavorful recipes that are low in fat, salt, and overall calories. So far my efforts have been hit or miss. There are some great options for breakfast here. I enjoyed the Fatoush salad and several chicken dishes, but the mushroom meat loaf was labor-intensive and not that great, especially as leftovers. Still, this is a large book, so there's plenty more for me to try, and I feel sure that I will find some new favorites.

Delicious and healthy recipes
I bought this book to help find meals for my significant other who is diabetic. The book has a great selection of recipes that have all been delicious. Clear and easy to understand nutrition facts as well as en explanation on why each recipe works for those with diabetes, which is helpful for those who are new to diabetic living.

Amazing Cookbook
Before I purchased this cookbook I did a fair amount of reading and research to find a good cookbook for someone with Diabetes. It has a lot of great examples of meal plans, why each recipe is good for you as well. Every recipe I've tried has been a hit and absolutely delicious. I find myself looking more and more into this cookbook than any of my others for what to make.

Been a God-send since we got the diagnosis!
This book has helped my husband have better meals, and helped me make them for him! No matter what he's in the mood for, I can find something along the lines in this book! It is very detailed, so I'm never confused as to how to cook things, and we almost always get multiple portions...making me able to warm up something later fast! It's great!

Interesting recipes but several are high in carbs
As a diabetic, I was very interested in “The Complete Diabetes Cookbook” by America’s Test Kitchen which includes many low carb recipes but also includes several high carb recipes such as Garden Minestrone with 42g carbs/serving including 9 grams sugar and Beef and Vegetable Stew with 39g carbs/serving including 10 grams sugar. These recipes don’t leave many carbs for the rest of your meal, if you are tracking carbs/meal. White potato is a traditional ingredient but has very little nutritional value and is mostly carbs. I’m disappointed that a cookbook claiming to be a healthy way to eat doesn’t suggest alternatives. However, these recipes can be tailored to your needs by substituting or reducing the amount of white potato, tomato or grain. On the plus side, the cookbook includes 1) many low carb recipes, 2) recipes with interesting combinations of ingredients and flavors, and 3) America’s Test Kitchen provides cooking directions on how to make the recipes. For these reasons, I rated this cookbook as a 3 for diabetics.

Delicious
Following my partners joint replacement, I began cooking out of this cookbook. In 3 months he has lost 30 pounds. The recipes are multi step, but the results are worth the work. I have been making meals almost exclusively from this for the past 3 months and don’t recall any meals we didn’t like.
