I asked a friend and she told me about this remedy, from when she was a kid in Hong Kong. I was pretty hesitant when she told me about it but surprised and amused that of course, someone on desertcart was selling it. Aside from the shock of the price for what it was and the warnings from her that it was not a spray but a powder..I bought it with a 50/50 hope that it would work. Luckily I had the heads up to not actually expect a spray but it was comical to read the desertcart reviews by surprised users of the powder. I had also been warned that like many medicinal things, it would not taste good. With those warnings, I went ahead and used the stuff as directed and waited to see the results. I will say that it honestly kind of reminded me of the smell of mold. After some research into some other Chinese medicinal products, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a type of mold that was allowed to grow on a watermelon. I also wouldn't be surprised that it would be an effective medication since we get a lot of drugs and natural remedies from the garden or food. Think penicillin right? I'm happy to say that after 3 applications it was speeding up the healing process. How do I know? Well, I ended up biting a spot near the prior canker sore and it was threatening to grow and connect the 2 sores into one mega sore and I caught it in time. I started applying the watermelon frost to the new sore and old and watched it heal up nicely a lot faster. After those had healed, a week later I did the same thing and bit the same spot...got the tell tale blister spot and knew that it would pop and be a canker sore...sure enough it did but because I started applying the watermelon frost powder as soon as I saw the blister...it literally was gone in 2-3 days. It never reached the gaping open sore look that hurt like crazy. So aside from the color, the fact that it says spray and isn't, looks and smells like green mold--the stuff works wonders. I haven't gotten any more canker sores but I'm glad that a little powder goes a long way so I should be good for a long while. Just remember to apply it as soon as you notice a canker sore coming in and apply it regularly. Review: Good product. Works as advertised - Works as advertised. Has sort of unpleasant taste but really kills mouth pain

This is a very special product. When I was a child, I heard that watermelon frost could treat ulcers on the tongue. When I tried it for the first time, I immediately felt relief from the pain.

Authentic watermelon frost spray for canker sores.
I have been looking for this item for a long time. This is a traditional Chinese herbal remedy for canker sores and sore throats. Thus item was authentic, and worked as I remembered from my childhood. Thank you so much!!

Very disappointing
Given the glowing reviews, I was very disappointed that the product did not help my canker sore to heal. I put a small amount of powder on it every night and morning for several days. I did not think it tasted terrible, and it provided a few moments of relief but not any more than other OTC applications. Very disappointed.

Worked after 4 nights
I was desperate to try anything on, then, my 2 week large canker sore. I saw reviews on this product and decided to buy it. I placed it on every night before bed and it took 4 nights for it to completely go away. I tried everything (kanka, salt/warm water rinse, oragel mouthwash rinse, manuka honey = all of which stung every time) and THIS was the only thing that helped me and I saw progress just after the first use. With each day, the canker sore looked smaller and less painful. At first, it was a bit intimidating putting it on because I thought it would sting (like putting salt) because it's a black powder but it actually did not sting at all. Possible slight tenderness when applying because you're touching the sore but within a minute of applying you feel a cooling sensation & no pain. Taste = it's powder and reminded me of (green tea) matcha powder. Other things that I did that I liked was using G.U.M Canker-X pain relief gel (also from amazon) that I applied throughout the day and it didn't sting going on. I took Vitamin B12 every day to help with healing as well. This will now be my go to & will recommend to everyone needing relief from awful canker sores. Arrived quickly from seller.

Works Simply and Simply Works
I have been using this product since childhood and it never fails to eliminate my canker sores. Best used if sore starts to appear. Will still work even if left sore is left untreated for a day or two, but works best and fast when applied in early stages. This product is a classic and has endured through time. Some folks might be put off with the taste a bit but I will take that anytime vs having a canker sore fester for days.

BUYER BEWARE- Possible Mercury Contamination. Check out the link below. This worked to relief pain from Apthous ulcers in my mouth but during my research. I found this article about that states concerns about Mercury contamination. We have no way to test for product safety and doubt Amazon takes any liability for products it allows to be sold on their site. For that reason, I will not order again. This article states how to make it yourself and discusses safety issues. [...] "Many tourists like to buy traditional Chinese medicine patent prescriptions when they visit. Watermelon Frost is one of the most popular purchases because it is cheap and said to be effective. However, the regulatory authority in Taiwan found that the Watermelon Frost from China contains excessive mercury and thus ordered a ban. It is no news that many Chinese medicines are not labeled truthfully and are dangerous to use". I
