3 years later, still PERFECT
Strong, large, fashionable (but not too fashionable), and cheap! This bag is everything I wanted. The velcro is pretty strong too. I put all my groceries in it, and it's still comfortable. It did smell of chemicals at the beginning, so I had to air it on the balcony for a few days.EDIT: 3 years later, no signs of wear. I bring it everywhere, Corsica, Greece, India, London, it's a city bag, a hiking bag, a beach bag, I feel comfortable with it because it's so cheap and rugged. Mine is always unrolled. I roll it when I think air companies might require it, but they never do. Best £30 I ever spent! The advert seems fake, but the pictures are accurate, nice, tall, slim design that nonetheless allows you to carry a good amount of stuff. It's not too rigid, but it holds its shape, so it works full or empty. I also like that the fabric absorbs light, the branding is minimal, this bag doesn't attract attention. You can use the u buckles with a carabiner to attach more things to it. Wish you could buckle the straps together to attach bigger objects on the outside, but I've managed to do that anyway (for a sleeping bag, or a hammock). It's not really as fancy, comfortable and adaptable as a hiking bag of course, but I've done really long and difficult hikes with it, so if you're not fussed, it will work.Cons:- Side pocket can only hold a small bottle- Chest straps not really useful for me- Slim design means your stuff is often tightly packed (but I forget to use the side zipper)- Not completely waterproof if you really stay under the rain!

Brilliant commuter bag
This bag really is great. Firstly it looks much more expensive than it actually is, but is really well made and thought out. It’s got a internal sleeve which will fit a large laptop and then space for other belongings. This main part of the bag can be accessed through the top, but also has a really handy side zip which I actually tend to use day to day, u less I’m getting my laptop out.The main feature of the bag is the ability to create more internal space, by unfolding the top. It’s adjustable to three main positions, however you can make smaller adjustments.Outside there’s a main pouch at the base of the bag, a zip pocket at the top and another full length pocket in the middle section. All in all a great bag. Looks good, without looking too flashy and has just enough useful pockets without being too complicated.

Get what you pay for
Nice design, I've received complements on this bag. I used this daily for work and it lasted me about a year and a half. Not utterly waterproof but mostly. The velcro is probably the worst part, it gets caught on clothes (damaging my clothes) and caught on the inside material of the bag which rips up the bag a bit. The seam inside the top pocket also ripped completely after about a year.Overall, for the price you're paying, its decent value for money.

the PERFECT commuter backpack...
I've spent literally months searching for backpack before I stumbled across this one... I thought I had fairly average needs for a cycle commuter - It had to be weatherproof, expandable, fairly business friendly but also with a bit of style and able to pack a days worth of kit. I had researched pretty much every brand out there - the North Faces, the Timbuk2, Mission Workshops, Chromes, Wandrd, GoRucks, Samsonites and just about everything in between I just couldn't quite find everything that met my needs that didn't cost me a second mortgage. I knew i didn't want the hiker look with a million random straps, nor the too cool for school messenger and never the shiny bin liner tarpaulin vibe where everything fell into a black hole. Most days I carry a change of clothes for work, some gym stuff, lunch, laptop and work related bits and the odd grocery shop on the way home so I knew I needed at least 30-35l to make it work but also with enough internal organisation built in that it doesn't feel like a lucky dip every time you reach in for your laptop. However, other days I don't take much so I didn't want to lug around a big empty sack. This pack does it ALL in style. The construction quality for this price is outstanding - the straps are thick and comfortable, zips are weatherproof, the fabric is strong and withstood a rainy London commute with ease. Better still and this is probably my favourite point - the branding is minimal for a pack at this price. In the 25L it looks like a regular laptop bag so you don't look out of place in any workplace setting.Trust me, save your money and your time - this will be the best £30 odd quid you've spent.

Very good business of university bag
Roomy bag, quite if not totally waterproof. The size is adjustable via the folding top, to just 2 or 3 sizes but not really in between those sizes. The laptop compartment will easily take a 14-15" laptop with plenty of room for folders, files, notebooks, lunch, etc. One external zipped pocket - small but waterproof, and a larger one also waterproof, under the flap when the bag is set to either of the smaller of the 2 sizes. The middle size can carry all my work materials plus clothes for a 2-3-4 day trip. Even with that load it is comfortable to carry and doesn't look unusually large. All in all, is looks professional, is well-made and seems very durable, proof against most rain, and can carry everything for several days travelling. Excellent value for money and recommended.

Practical BUT with some drawbacks
This is a really practical, affordable bag but beware of some significant drawbacks. 1) The stitching / fabric inside the small pocket on the flap (next to the "Jansben" label) completely fell apart after 2 months of daily use, making that pocket unusable - a pity, as that's where I store my car keys for quick access!!! 2) The velcro catches on my clothing if I'm wearing anything like a wooly jumper, which is super annoying. If you don't wear wooly jumpers on a regular basis, and don't mind the low quality of the stitching, this is a solid, low-price bag for daily use
