Camping Hammock with Tree Straps, Best Portable Parachute Hammocks for Hiking, Beach Fun, or Backyard Relaxation

Initially my 16y/o daughter had me purchased one for her. It's the new teen craze here in very Southern IL. I just couldn't afford another brand and after research I found this company Northbound Train. It was affordable and had everything in it. I didn't have to buy extra to just make it work. I liked my daughter's so much that I bought one for myself. The quality of the material was great and very comfortable to relax in. In the end of Dec 2016, we took a vacation. My daughter connected hers to the pier on the beach. Next thing I know, I was doing! Very nice way to relax. It was a breeze to put up, breathable, and easy to take down. Sand was no longer on my stuff when I relaxed on the beach!!! Looking forward to using them this summer in various other places. They contain everything you need to set up. (Unlike other brands where you have to purchase the straps, etc.) Easy to put up, take down, and small enough to store anywhere. I HIGHLY recommend for all ages. My daughter reminded me of the great warranty they have also.

UPDATED REVIEW....I initially rated this as a 3 star (read below for details on that). However, since that time I have been BLOWN AWAY by the customer service offered by Northbound Train. Within hours of the submission of my earlier review, I had an email where they were correcting the situation that exceeded my expectations (and I didn't even have to ask!). Since that time, I have received additional correspondence where Northbound Train followed up to make sure I was pleased with the customer service I received as well as the replacement hammock they sent.I realize things happen. What companies do to address those things are the difference. I would DEFINITELY recommend Northbound Train in general, and this hammock in particular.Thanks, NBT!I've been a hammock camper for over 10 years. I've used everything from cheap parachute cloth to the three letter version. But since my go-to ripped on a recent outing I was looking for a new favorite. The last one I purchased was good, but a little too short and narrow - even though I'm only 5'9", I like to sleep diagonally. I was happy to find a great deal on what appeared to be a great package.I was excited to see the integral packaging with a zippered compartment that allowed for separate storage of the straps. That way I don't have to worry about getting sap all over my hammock! When I unpacked the hammock itself I was impressed. The colors (red and gray) were not too bright, and looked like they wouldn't fade easily. It was easily long enough and wide enough for even me. Straps and carabiners were ready for use. And since I've gained my weight back (250 lb) I was happy to see the 600 lb weight rating.So... I couldn't wait to use my hammock system. Off we went for a two mile jaunt on the Pinhoti Trail in East Alabama. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. (As an aside, Skeeter Piss from High Country Cellars is an amazing wine that belies its namesake.) I will admit, it got a little chilly!! Setup was a breeze and similar to all hammocks. I did appreciate the straps - the flat sewn daisy chain is easier to thread through than the ones with obvious loops. The 9' lengths maximized ability to use wide spans without feeling ungainly. Upon laying in the hammock, it was as my initial impressions indicated. Wide enough for me to lay diagonally without having to hang my feet off. Perfect. Until....About 3:00 am I had just crawled back in my nice warm sleeping bag, pulled it up over my shoulders and zipped up. Upon closing my eyes, I was greeted with a baseball bat to the shoulders. As I struggled to comprehend what had happened, I caught my breath and uttered a few choice words. My friend, with barely suppressed laughter, illuminated the scene as I discerned what happened. The square/reef knot which held the fabric to the carabiner nearest my head had came undone!! After the shock of being dumped on my butt wore off (and the laughter subsided), I was able to thread the rope back through and secured it with a fisherman's knot. This held the remainder of the night. But I was nervous every time I turned over...After returning home, I inspected the opposite end and believe it wouldn't have taken much for that square knot to have come undone as well. The ends aren't melted and flared so as to prevent slippage, and square knots often fail. I untied it and completed a fisherman's knot there as well. It had the added advantage of allowing the material to slide without bunching.So, overall rating is a generous 3. Would have been a 5, but.... Now for an appointment with my chiropractor.

Was not very pleased with this purchase. I can only lay in it horizontally without feeling like I’m going to fall out. I cannot lay vertically on the hammock because the sides of the hammock are so loose that your only stableness is the part of the hammock that your body is laying on. So now I am on a hunt for a new hammock :( and every time the wind blows slightly the wind catches it like a parachute and blows so your head shakes along with the rest of the hammock.

I was looking for something that was easy to set up. This is it! Takes less than five minutes to hang no matter where I go. I love the lightweight material. My only complaint is I don’t like being closed up when I’m laying down because of the way it’s designed which most of them are designed this way. It just doesn’t allow you to get air when you’re out in the open. I like to be able to feel the breeze around me. But considering the price I paid and what I use it for, that’s really not a major issue. I do like how easy it is to store. Seems to be made pretty good quality as well.

Lovin' this Hammock! happy with the quality, price and especially with the daisy chain hammock straps! The only downside; I ordered two Red/Gray hammocks and received two Blue/Light Blue.The hammock straps make putting it up and taking it down easy and effortless. No more "hope it holds" knots. This system is great giving the hammock a wide range of possible distances. Also the compression bag is a great addition keeping everything together for easy travel / packing.

This hammock was perfect! We go Camping at Gilbert Lake State Park in NY every year in July. I saw this and thought of the perfect place to hang it up. My kids all had fun using it too! Great quality.Came with carry bag and straps. Really a great deal for what they are selling it for. Dried fast after a rain storm. Top quality.Love my Amazon Prime shipping too!

Gave this to my husband for his birthday. He loves sleeping in it in summer! Easy to hang in the back yard, and he stays cool and comfortable all night. We both fit nicely in it, with space for a child or two if we sit sideways! We are all small for our age, though.

This product is great. The Tree Straps are very easy to use and it takes a couple of minutes to put up. We use this when camping and it's great very relaxing just hanging out. I have also fell asleep in this and slept the entire night.
