Be careful with that knife, Eugene.......
I was reading the NYT and this knife was featured in one of the sections. It was hard to believe that it could be as reasonably priced as it is and still be a quality product. Well...it has become my go-to for all my chopping chores in the kitchen. I like using a cleaver style knife but most are just too heavy. This one is just right. And very sharp. The blade is a mix of alloys. The carbon component gives you the sharpness you would expect in a quality knife and the stainless steel component gives it the longevity. So you are not sacrificing one for the other...sheer genius.The wood handle is a big plus too. It is everything the Times said it was. Couldn't be happier with this purchase

Beautiful affordable high quality nakiri knife
Full disclosure: I'm a bit of a kitchen knife junkie. Got way more than I will ever need, though that is beside the point. I have some expensive knives (Shun, Zwilling, and others) and as a sort of hobby collect various brands to try. This is the first TUO Phoenix series knife, and it is wonderful. The quality is great, the balance among the best, and it came really sharp. Then there are the esthetics -- this is plainly a beautifully knife with the pakkawood grainy handle. Itis somewhat lighter than some other nakiri knives I have used. The beveled bolster is both graceful and useful - it makes the pinch grip easier to use. So I keep coming back to this knife for daily use. Could not recommend any higher. But I love my Shun Classic knives too.

Aesthetic and ergonomic

Came nicely wrapped
The nakiri knife came packaged in a box and wiping cloth nicely boxed. The wood handle is beautiful and the blade is pretty sharp. The handle feels balanced but kinda awkward to cut with. It feels like the blade is very fine and the rest of the knife is more blocky. I tried it on carrots, onions, leeks and a mango. It feels more like a slicer. Probably good for melons, spring onions or sashimi that aren't completely compact. Dense veggies like onions, carrots, I feel like I have to be more cautious when handling. Probably fine for things like slicing lettuce, chopping herbs (parsley/cilantro) or making salads.

Nice knife, but not as sharp as people claim.
This is a beautiful, well constructed blade and handle. Its weight and balance are very good. It’s packaging was excellent. Blade dimensions are within the lines of more expensive knives. The cutting bevel is good, but I wouldn’t call this knife very sharp out of the box. I plan to hone it on a 400 grit diamond stone, and finish with 1200/1400 grit stone. I’m sure it will be razor sharp after that. All in all, this is a very nice blade and should give years of service.

Great Knife, Especially for the Price
The value of this item (quality vs price paid) is tremendous. I am very happy with the design, quality and function. The Pakka wood handle is beautiful. I purchased this primarily for cutting and unfolding parpadelle pasta (if you know, you know) rather than spending $200-$300 for some of the high end knives. I don't generally gush over Chinese products, but I have to give credit where it is due. Great knife, great quality and beautiful to hold and use.

Balanced and razor sharp
This was a Christmas gift purchase but after looking it over I decided to buy one myself and I’m very pleased. The knife is well balanced and razor sharp. I like how it fits my hand and it looks very professional as well and for the price it can’t be beat. I highly recommend it.

Bin froh ein solches Nakiri zu haben. Liegt super in der Hand, der Griff ist ein Schmeichler und die Schneide hat eine tolle Schärfe. Vor allem gefällt mir das die Schneide eine gute Spitze aufweist. Ist zum schneiden von kleinen Gemüsen wichtig. Für mich ist dieses Messer mittlerweile unverzichtbar geworden. Ich würde dieses Nakiri immer wieder erwerben.

The Nakiri Knife is better than anticipated and will enhance work in food preparation. The edge (on arrival) is super sharp and I do appreciate the sharpness will dull with continued use, so I am following up with a knife edge protector to help maintain sharpness in the future. The product was also delivered prior to the planned delivery date, which was also a nice surprise, thanks.
