This stuff is amazing. I'd always hated the dark grey grout that was originally (five years ago) improperly mixed and/or applied to the otherwise beautiful tile in my kitchen and laundry room. The result was an uneven, dirty appearance that made me crazy. This was a big job, but so worth it! After watching videos and checking lots of reviews and advice online, I ordered this colorant and the Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile and Grout Cleaner. I first vacuumed the floor thoroughly, then applied the cleaner (2 parts water to one part cleaner) to the grout areas with a dish detergent bottle, scrubbed it into the grout with a stiff brush, let it sit a bit, then used my Shark steam mop to get it really clean. I let it dry for 3 hours, then went to work with the grout colorant. I used a small sponge brush and a paper plate. Be sure to saturate the grout--it's ok to get some on the tile, as you want to be sure to get all the grout. Wait 1-3 hours, then go back with a combo sponge/scrubber, sponge the tile with grout on it, then scrub it off. The next day, I took a tiny artist brush and touched up any areas that needed it. I did this job one area at a time, as I needed to cover about 400 square feet.

I made an awful mistake of originally installing white grout, on my bathroom floor, with two dogs in the house. No matter how much I cleaned the floor, it always looked dirty.I gave this colorant at try and it completely transformed my floors!!! It was very easy to use. I first cleaned the floors as usual, used a toothbrush to apply the colorant, and then let it sit for a couple hours. Then, I used a spray bottle with water to mist the floor and a scotch pad to very easily scrub away the excess colorant off the tile.I used about 1/4 of the bottle to cover my 5’x7’ bathroom. However, my floor tiles are large/less grout.

too dark

I purchased this grout stain to cover up a botched grouting job from a shoddy contractor. I had glossy white porcelain subway tile and blotchy white grout, and purchased the "light gray" grout colorant. I applied the colorant with a baby toothbrush, waited an hour, wet small areas at a time and wiped it off the tile with a wet rag. I was pretty sloppy with my application, and it got all over the tile...but no big deal, it came right off the tile with a little scrubbing. The colorant stayed on the grout lines perfectly, even with hard scrubbing. Time will tell if it lasts for 15 years, but I'd redo the application of this stuff in 5 years again if I have to.

Just wish I knew about this sooner! SO easy to apply. I had a small area and just painted it on with one of my kids craft paint brushes. Worked perfectly, let it dry for an hour and then scrubbed off the tiles where I over painted using the back side of a standard blue dish sponge. Came right off the tile but stayed on the grout. Seriously looks amazing like I just regrouted my floor! The light gray color is darker than it looks in the picture but I love it!

I used this colorant for my kitchen tile floor. The light gray grout lines (1/4") turnedout perfect. The product at this point seems to do what it claims and time will prove that.I would not hesitate to use this product again.There are 3 things when you use this product.1) Make you sure you follow all the instructions.2) Work in small sections (I did a 2' x 3' area each time).3) Have a lot of patience. Don't rush to finish.

bluish tint. darker than expected (medium to dark gray, not light gray). Good product performance though. Not so sure about color description.

Worked beautifully on a newly grouted tile floor. The contractor used a color we did not like/want and this solved the problem. Easy to apply and did the job.
