German Verb Drills, Fourth Edition (Drills Series) 4th Edition

As the cover says, great for intermediate beginners. Nice big layout, easy instructions, sentences one would actually use in real life. Kind of big, but that makes sense if you're going to write in it. I just find the size a bit cumbersome for travel. The books says "free bonus exercises online...mhprofessional dot com...) but neither the workbook nor the McGraw-Hill website tell you how to access them.I ordered this from a third party on Christmas Day and it didn't arrive until Jan 6. Use Prime if you have a deadline.

Great extra practice book for my german. I am at about a A2 - B1 level and this was a great review. It gave examples of structures of the many tenses and also a list of many different verbs that are hard to master - left plenty of space to complete the exercises as well. I recommend this to anyone between the A2-B1 level range.

As a volunteer coordinator between Americans and Germans it's a great product and many of the lessons are helpful. The only down side is some of the translations aren't quite accurate (according to the Germans in my group). They were able to figure it out and set us straight. All in all it is a great product.

I have to say, after two college semesters of Deutsch, I wasn't sure this book was going to do much. Well, I was wrong. "German Verb Drills, Fourth Edition" is the perfect supplement to a serious endeavor at learning the German language. Packed with essential words and simple drills that really jog the mind into thinking through the words of another language, I cannot recommend this book enough.-A pleased student.

Although it will likely never reach the Bestseller List, this book breaks German verbs into their various forms in digestible bites section by section, followed by exercises reviewing each section. Answers are included in the back of the book for immediate reinforcement of understanding. This is not a textbook, and does not read like one. Strictly business. German Verbs Drills!

German grammar rules are really hard to get used to for English-speaking people, but this and similar books are very helpful in answering questions and providing great examples.

Explanations of grammar rules are clear. Exercises provide plenty of opportunity to test and retest your own progress and weaknesses.

Will purchase more! Love the series!

Just got this book through the post a few days ago and I can't put it down. It really is the perfect book for beginners. It gives you the important verbs you need to know and a battery of drill exercises to hammer them in. Also very important: it gives you the answer key at the back to allow you to check your answers. A good companion to this book (for beginners) is a school grammar book: German Grammar 11-14 by Oliver Gray and Trevor Stevens. The step above this is: The Key to German Grammar for Key Stages 3 & 4 by Harriette Lanzer.

I am a sixty year old starter in German language, using one to one tuition from a native speaker.I needed a book with exercises to reinforce what had been taught in the latest session with my tutor. This book, provided it is used to complement what is being taught, is very helpful.I did try to overtake my tutor, but this caused an amount of confusion.No publication is perfect, but I consider this a good purchase. The layout is clear, the exercises are achievable. I would happily purchase other books in this series.

I got a German GCSE 20 years ago and have started German conversation classes at work. I needed something to really drill the verbs back into me and this is great for that. The instructions are clear, the breakdown of different verbs and rules are clear, there are lots of exercises. Does exactly what it says it will.
