Good deal!
Got a good deal for this drive considering the size and speed. Works great for all my gaming needs. Love the 2 usb ports in the front, can never have too many!

So far, it seems good
I am using this as a USB3 hub and drive 2 of a two drive backup solution for my NAS. Any files that I need to have survive a fire are already backed up in the cloud, but it never hurts to have on-site backups of you NAS. At 8TB for my last drive, I needed more storage, so I devided on a 2nd 8TB drive, as the value per $ is best at 8TB for my needs. And with a buoy-in USB3 hub, it made my decision much easier. I reformatted the drive as btrfs and will not be using any of the freebies included, but for the home user that dabbles in photography, the included 1yr adobe subscription is nice to have. The drive is quiet, or at least so much quieter than my NAS as to not be able to be heard operating at all. I like it, and if it lets 2+ years, it will prove to be more reliable than drives from the past.

Very fast transfer with 3.0 USB. Gigabytes in seconds!
Easy to install just with quick start instructions. I made a few "adjustments", being a super user with a 6 machine network at home. Lots of backups, lots of PC's with 2TB drives, SSD and HDD. Split 8TB Hub into a 5 and a 3 TB partitions. 5TB I use to backup my Seagate Plus 4TB portable Backup for the system backups, C:/Windows, update in a timely way depending on updates and additions as needed. 3TB partition use for data backups on main 2 machines on other partitions. Had it a couple weeks, may change arrangement but works well so far. Original backup of 4TB portable to Hub took about 2 hrs and it was quite full about 3.75TB. Don't like clouds..my stuff and I like it right here. Double safety since original portable 4TB drive has close to 1000 hrs on it. Gotta be careful!!

Great unit for the money.
For a drive that holds 8 TB and has automated backup software included I have been pretty impressed. Read/Write speed is not amazing but for a backup system it's acceptable. Only feature I wish it had is the ability to connect multiple devices at the same time. To backup more than 1 computer you are forced to disconnect, transfer the cable to the other computer, and then start the software on the other computer (it won't run without the drive connected).

Great quality drive, not so great software
Seagate makes great quality disk drives. I was however disappointed in the software provided with the drive for doing backups of a computer. After 7-8 attempts to do saves of all my data it never once completed properly. It would stop progressing at various times remaining like at 37 minutes to go, 2 minutes to go, and even <1 minute to go. I let them continue running overnight but they never completed. A Google search confirmed that's a common problem that has been complained about for several years. So if you can use your computer's archival software to make saves this would be a very good choice of high capacity drive (mine was 8 TB). I just can't recommend it's supplied software which I needed to make complete image saves. Plus its diagnostic software has a bug so its text is cut off on an ultra high resolution display which makes it nearly illegible and very difficult to read. It displayed fine on my older standard resolution monitor.

Reliable
I take a lot of photographs and need a reliable backup drive. I've been using Seagate external drives and backup hubs for years and never had a problem. My old hub filled up with backups and was getting old so decided to replace it with a newer one. Use this with my iMac time machine backup. Reliable, trustworthy and takes up very little space.

Using as a back-up. Thumbs up.
I am using it as a back up for my video files. I have almost 3500 videos on an 6GB Seagate+ and am using about 4 GB, and was using an old WD as back up. Waiting on a new Mini computer that will mount to the back of a 40 inch TV/monitor. Updating everything. The drive fits under the monitor for easy access to the front USB's. Copied the files over and a;; it well with lots of room to expand.

8TB Drive
This is the second drive like this that I have purchased. I do real estate photography and I have been using the first one as my primary drive for storage. I have been using it for a year and it has never given me a problem. I bought the second one to be a mirror of the first one.

Yo lo uso principalmente para guardar películas, es el quinto que compró de esta marca en los últimos 5 años. Ninguno me ha fallado, acceso las películas desde el disco sin problemas. En general buen producto.
