Every one charged with Gen Ed academic assessment must read this book. Failure on the part of assessment professionals to read this and Dr. Allen's book on Program Assessment is equivalent to a medical professional skipping over anatomy and physiology courses and going straight into surgery. There is no better reference to begin and maintain a Gen Ed assessment plan and perhaps even a Gen Ed program.
